I thought the same about my favourite looted legendary weapon… I defeated two purges with it, and it lost almost none of it’s durability.
It’s my hope that the Heritance hotfix was a test and that they are planning to revert ALL grandfathered items to current stats. Not just the ones from Age of War either, this has been the problem the game has had for years.
Right… I just reacted to the durability, because it significantly changed after today hotfix. I tested it only on one weapon tho. I remember few days when weapons were getting durability while using them, instead of vice versa. 
And what do you mean by “grandfathered” items?
Please keep the snakes the way they are. The pets in this game are so bad, its great to have something of value.
If there is a need to do anything, buff other greater (free) pets to similar values.

There’s no pay2win. No snake will save you from getting raided and sent back to the desert. Get real.

I would have liked the current giant snake pet as the main game and a giant cobra new bp skin.

The giant snake is very cool and usable. It has a very reliable attack pattern. it is just a simple repeating strike. The stats while good isn’t the best thing in the game.
I do think it is kinda bad there isn’t any version of it outside the bp. I thought everything in the pass was supposed to be cosmetic only and an in game variant is supposed to exist. there isn’t another pet with its stats and attack pattern in game.

They should imppement a free version for everyone to use.
I do understand why ppl eay it’s pay to win.
It’s the only pet with reliable attack pattern and poison dot on top. Making it a great support pet in any pvp fight…and it’s locked behind BP.
What’s next? New BP/ Bazaar exclusive weapon types? BP exclusive religions and avatars? BP exclusive buffs and mechanics?
BP should remain as devs themselves said just cosmetic.
BP exclusive combat pet type is hardly cosmetic.

Just add ingame variant, NO NEED to nerf the giant snake pets! jesus, pets are almost useless enough… let people have 1-2 at least cool pets who can fight…
and BP is free (probably for most of us) so it cant be P2W (you can complete it in single player cmon…)
Only Bazaar stuff can be P2W (i hope they wouldnt).
But again, just give everything ingame variant (more poor and basic) but anyways… so we can close P2W rants FOREVER.

Agreed, the giant snake skin should be available in the game. Perhaps put s stele or journal behind one of the giant snake bosses that lets you learn the giant snake with the red-ish skin already in the game. That would still make the battle pass skin special and let everyone else in on the snake pet fun.
Two PvE advantages of the giant snake alphas that haven’t been mentioned is that they have a decent reach and don’t appear to be able to be stunned.

that is a good point. thralls have a lot of armor pen, though. i wonder how they would compare to thralls against bosses.
Love your suggestion about using like the red snake for base. It gives people an option without pass but still makes the bp skin cool
I haven’t put a stopwatch on it, but running war party two giant snake alphas take down live bosses pretty quickly. Pairing one snake with a Thugra or Dalisina equipped with momentum would likely be faster.

if you don’t see it as pay 2 win you haven’t tested it, simple as.
and it can strength buff with the raw pork, and does crazy healing with some other foods we have tested.
and for the whiners about pets in general I agree with you actually, I would like a pets overhaul entirely making them useful, but having one outlier p2w pet (which I obviously already have from my screenshot) is not the way to do this.
as for @GodlyVoice top tier Alpha statement of getting sent back to the desert I play in a 10 man clan , I complain about balance because of the health of the game, we are still using the inbalanced spears, now have fridges filling up with snake eggs, and was complaining last that gods are too strong in another thread not because we were “victims” but because we wiped all beds chests and doors of a clan with a yog the other day and they had next to no recourse or even a attempt at stopping us.

What tests have you done? have you put it up against other pets and thralls? does it beat all of them?
It’s hard without demonstrations to have a discussion. I haven’t seen a single test showing it beating everything else. If someone has that then i would like to see it. I don’t think such a test exists.
the snake shouldn’t be in the battlepass, though. that is concerning

Players, Bosses, Food heal rate, dmg, health and comparative armor.
But it doesn’t need to beat everything else to be wildly P2W either (though it is)
Doesn’t take too much to test it either, just go singleplayer levelfollowerupto 20 in console while on follow then heal it up (maybe rebirth for good rolls most players will be doing so anyway on a lvl 20) then just get a friend to fight it or test bosses, friends thrall etc
With their strike distance dmg and poison and hitbox it is a very vicious pvp pet and being near as tanky as a bearer in terms of health pool on a good roll makes it a high tier pve pet too.
Devs said for better or worse pets should never be as strong as thralls (given equipment etc) yet the snake out of the box is so strong.
I have a boxes full of t4 thralls. it took me nearly 25 eggs to get one giant snake alpha. that took over 24 hours with the respawn time the way it is. it takes like 5 hours for the eggs to respawn. and i was really unlucky with my hatches. I farmed for a grey ape for 3 days. what a massive disappointment that was. it spends a massive ammount of time throwing an imaginary rock for 0 damage.
Is the snake likely better then any of the t4 thralls i could equip? Is it a better option then a thrall? No one uses pets because they are terrible and thralls are amazing. it sounds like this pet might just be viable. I still haven’t seen anything that shows it’s overpowered. Where exactly does it rank?
All pets are nerfed and no one uses them. It would be a shame for that to happen here needlessly.
I would say if your argument was that there is no variant outside the bp i would be in complete agreement. they should have a free variant. probably one of the common skins found on them like the red one.

No, I don’t want the giant snake skin freely available. I like being unique on the server. Im willing to pay for it.
However, in terms of stats and “pay to win” I think its only just that there are no pass/bazaar pets stronger than the free ones.
You guys know what a crab bucket is? It’s when a bunch of crabs are in a bucket and one is escaping. What do the others do? They pull it back in so they all suffer in the bucket.
Same goes with cries of p2w.
Why not just ask the devs to put in a regular giant snake? I was surprised they didn’t do that to begin with.
No one needs another nerfed into the ground arcane bookshelf fiasco.
