I have abandoned thralls on my server. Is the life cycle for thralls and pets unending
Been waiting for them to die. 2 weeks at least some floating. Perhaps I should turn on pvp. Suggestions Thanks.
If you build underneath a floating thrall, this will often cause them to drop back down to the ground. If they’re truly orphaned and their owner isn’t going to come pick them up, then you can try kiting animals over to kill them. If it’s a world boss you kite (Rotbark works well) then it may be able to take out several weak ones at once. However, if the thralls are very strong with legendary/epic gear, then you may need to build walls around them so that the monster can fight them 1 on 1 without dying.
Here’s hoping we get a better fix for the removed feeding system so that we PvE players don’t have to keep engaging in “passive PvP” like this just to keep our servers clean.
Thank you for the advice
There should be two settings under Abandonment that you can modify to kill thralls & pets of players who have stopped logging on.
This is disable thrall decay - ensure that this is not turned on if you want abandoned thralls/pets to disappear.
There is also Thrall decay time - the default time is 14 days … so on the 15th day after no owner has logged into the game, the thralls/pets should despawn.
This unfortunately will not help you if the owners are logging on but have abandoned thralls/pets away from their current bases. Although in the stream it was stated that thrall/pet decay renewal was done by players standing close to them, it’s not been that in my experience since March. I’m retesting at the moment - will take about another 10 days before I can check if my bearer that I placed far away from me is still around.
