So I had removed my outer walls around my Oasis base to allow someone to build there, but they keep getting a “this land is already claimed” message in a certain area.
I have nothing in that area, and the closest thing is a T3 altar that is at least 25 foundations away from that area.
I am assuming that one of the old foundations ended up below the visible mesh and is causing this issue. Both of us have gone over the area and cannot see anything that would cause it.
Does anyone know of a way to find and delete this anomaly?
By walking the area with a foundation pending placement my friend has pretty much pinpointed the area within a few meters, yet we do not see anything.
Any suggestions and help would be appreciated. FYI this is a public server, so if there is a MOD we cannot use it.
If the piece in question was part of a larger structure it will likely still have the ‘original’ decay timer, if you’ve been near it in the last week that would have refreshed as well.
Stay away and let it decay would be the best advice, I don’t think Funcom will intervene because of one errant building piece.
I just realized after saying that, I was probably refreshing it, lol.
Good advice, I will steer clear of that area for awhile and hopefully it will decay.
Maybe you build one piece under the mesh. It happend for me more than one time that i placed a piece under the mesh and cant destroy it. The only thing you can do is hitting against the ground to see if anything is build there or to wait 7 days far enough from the place.
Isn’t that within land-claim? I think 25 to 30 foundations is roughly the size of the land-claim borders from any given structure. And knowing FC, different structure types will have (slightly?) different border shapes and sizes. Just guessing here.
About two or three bases ago I had a friend run around with a foundation block in his hand so I could get an idea of where my borders were (because I was building so close to him) and yeah, 25 to 30 foundations was about right. Interestingly, on the right and left sides of the base (the short sides of a rectangle) the borders were about 15 to 20 foundations out. But in front (out from the longest sides) they were 25 to 30. The borders also arced in a radius around some central area and were nowhere near rectangular and not even rectangular with rounded corners.
After 10 or 15 minutes of messing about I imagined something like this:
Not 100% sure if it’s correct or not though. I took only 3 actual measurements. One in front, one in back, and one from the short side (toward the front of his base).
