Do I need mods to play on your server?

Hi @kivkotare. Yes, the server is lightly modded, mostly quality of life mods + decorations. You can find the current modlist here or in the opening post:

Today’s patch has caused Conan servers hosted at several different hosting providers to become unstable. This includes GTX Gaming with whom we are hosted.

Since this bug causes the server to crash every few minutes, I’ve submitted a support ticket to be kept in-the-loop. Additionally I’m keeping the server shutdown to avoid further complications that could be caused from repeated crashes.

@Narelle or I will update again once we have more info.

Hi. I’m really interested in playing and your server is just what I’m looking for. I love to build and craft mostly and don’t like pvp. I have a couple of questions. Do you have room for 2 or 3 new players? Can we buy the building packs and use them in your server? Do these purges attack your builds and destroy them and your character? Thanks

Just read that building levels protect against the purge. So, if I have a lvl 1 building in a lvl 1 area, and lvl 2 building in lvl 2 area, does that mean they’re protected?

Hey @Erielle, yep we’ve got room if you and your friends would like to come join us.

  • DLCs should work on any server, and we certainly don’t have any restrictions against them.

  • Purge Have been set so that a purge will only spawn and attack a clan if at least one member of that clan is online, and only between 7pm and 10pm US Eastern Time.

  • Purge Damage: While purges can destroy property, virtually everyone on this server loves fighting against them, so there’s always plenty of allies to be had who are willing to help you defend your base. As such, it’s pretty rare to have more than just minor damage unless you’ve done something like rushed to an area far above your level and then tried to handle it on your own without any outside help. If you play like most folks do though, then there shouldn’t be any great cause for concern.

  • Purge Rewards: We play by the rule that the clan getting purged has 1st claim to any spoils from the purge. This means if there are rare thralls in your purge, we’ll help you KO them, but no one will steal them from you. Same for any legendary keys that drop from bosses, etc.

  • Death is Not The End: Just like on Official servers, death is only a temporary setback. While you will drop your gear on the ground when slain, no one can loot your corpse, and you can run back and reclaim your items without having to restart at 1st level.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and hope to see you guys later!

Thank you so much for getting back to me so soon. I’ll dl the game and join you guys asap. My son and friend are interested as well and may be joining later tonight.

All building pieces, regardless of tier, have a certain amount of HP per block. While higher tier blocks have more HP than lower-level ones, they don’t have any special immunities beyond that.

So that chart from the wiki showing T3 blocks resisting high-tier purges simply means that they are the best static defense you’re able to build. Yet given enough time, even a low-level purge could eventually do damage to a high tier base, it’s just that it would take them a lot longer to have any noticeable effect.

As a comparison, a T1 Foundation has 10K hp, a T2 50K, and a T3 100K.

Ok, thanks for clarifying that for me.

One more question. Do I need Battleye?

Yes, just like Official servers, we all use BattleEye here as well.

Opened a support ticket with GTX to inquire as to whether they will be supporting the additional ports and INI changes needed to allow players using the Epic Game Store to connect and download mods directly from the game server.

The response I received looks to be a positive one:

So it looks like this should be a non-issue for us. Failing that, @Narelle has also come up with a manual workaround, so we should be good-to-go regardless.

Even though the launch was postponed and the last few patches were quite the challenge for private server admins, I would say it was a good learning experience for me. We learn to overcome

We now have the time to relax and enjoy the game.

We added a couple mods today, one to (hopefully) fix the sandstorm bugs, and another to address seasonal depression for those living in the jungle and highlands. Since the latter changes the game experience somewhat, it was put to a vote first, and the results were pretty clear:

With that said, the mods added are:

  2. WYSIWYG Wheel of Pain (ID: 897947497)

  13. Mod Control Panel (ID: 1823412793)
  14. Exiles Compass (ID: 2069411117)

Additionally, my co-admin, @Narelle, was kind enough to put together a Steam Collection that bundles all the mods for ease-of-use:

Let us know what you think!

Would be nice if officials had this, too

The fake sandstorms at login were an annoyance, and the invisible ones, an unfair hazard.

But the fact that it was constantly sitting visible off the south end of the map? That was just too much to bear!

Sadly, neither the Sandstorm Fix nor Amunets Weather Changes played nicely with the server. When tested separately from one another, both seemed to introduce hitches (microstuttering) that was not present before.

For now, both mods are coming back off, and I’ve little expectation of being able to re-add them. :sob:

New mod load order is the old mod load order:
