I learned to avoid that unless I want hideous texture rendering, @jmk1999 . Now, I’m really efficient. I only get what I’ll use and a small extra for repairs. ![]()
Can’t make cool builds without excessive materials on hand. ![]()
Definitely. My building suffers IMMENSELY!
I only keep 5 stacks to prevent impulsive trash. It slows me down so I can look and adjust as I go
Well that’s a bugger
thanks
Then don’t.
If less people are using legendary weapons thus making them rarer, I see this as an improvement. If they are on everyone’s hotbar all the time, then a mistake has been made.
well no real pvp player will spend his time to farm weapon, what they farm are bombs or gods, the rest they will find it in base they raid.
on a pvp server u can have the best weapons and armor, but it will not save your life when you will encounter a lag situation, or be outnumbered, or simply be looted when offline.
so in other word there is no reasons to do that for pvp players and it will not create hotspot
and most of time encounters are friendly outsive raiding on pvp servers if no active wars, pvp servers doesn’t mean you kill at first sight, and those who do that don’t survive long on a pvp server usually ![]()
This one is still putzing around, ever so slowly.
So this position is a work in progress.
Not all legendaries seem to be created equal.
Certainly not all will be useful to all players. That said, we do seem to be done with trash legendaries.
What this one means is that there seem to be a couple spears, with the poke moveset, that are Agility weapons.
Rolling Thrust, in the current tentative iteration of the Stamina economy, is premium.
But this isn’t a thread about stamina economy!
Yes yes yes this one knows that. But when some of the legendaries interact with that economy, along with the every heavy attack inflicts a debuff, it’s important to look at the holistic.
Legendaries are RNG locked.
Which means finding the Legendary you want is not likely without extreme grind and even then isn’t guaranteed.
So, while there are no junk Legendaries, there are many that simply are not relevant to all players. Especially as some Legendaries are still stat sticks (very strong stat sticks, but if one detests one handed sword moveset, even an infinity+1 sword is manky) while others have other uses or traits.
This variability of utility is the issue.
If something was just a better version, Hakuna Matata. But when it provides a tangible and unique (or nearly unique option) RNG grind gating it, and then RNG grind gating it’s replacement is unfortunate.
The first grind gate is far less odious than subsequent ones.
Legendaries should absolutely not be easy to repair.
Honestly, the more this one has putzed around, and as easy (if time consuming) as the lowest hanging fruit is…
This one revises their previous position that one should dismantle a legendary to repair a legendary.
More like, 5-10 legendaries in the recycling bin to get the materials to craft as a lev 60+ feat the kit to repair a legendary. While keeping the chance to degrade maximum durability.
That is why the game is going this route: the yes man. The ones that are quick to praise and slow to think for themselves.
The game is already a grind fest for legendaries. Make them spendable won’t make them more legendary, will make them temporary. Just that.
I suggest for the next age: Age of Aging. Your character will age and be progressively weaker until it dies and you lose all your knowledge, weapons, marks (if in Siptah) and all your base and have to start fresh again! What a great idea, inspired by this legendary twist. Great, right?
You’ve got it backwards. We’ve been asking for the Legendaries to be more rarer so they maintain their legendary status. Many of you didn’t pipe in because you were happy with your replenishing stores. You didn’t realize that we were also asking for that to be gutted as well. Now its a tad bit late.
But you can always use your steel and hardened steel weapons if you like. If you don’t want to hit up bosses to replenish your weapons. You can always go hit rocks.
Another thing totally missed with the non repairable legendary…this creates a market. Which means if i have a favorite legendary, and i have bad luck, maybe another player has 5 in a chest. Which means…an organic economy of trade. Isnt that what many pve players wanted. A real reason to trade?
I don’t see why they would be rarer…
In a day killing bosses I will get a shitload of legendaries. Maybe not the Sword of Crom, but I’ll get enough for me and a lot of thralls.
I think very rare drops could be protected from durability loss, though. You can play months without landing one. Other than that, I’m fine with this change. But I like fighting. A lot of players don’t. I see their perspective.
Legendaries are super easy to get. They will continue being super easy to get. A lot of them are just different skins. I always have much more than I can use and I don’t see that changing…
I think we should have tiers. If you get a legendary from killing Thag, it should be much better than one you got by killing a spider at lvl 10.
I understand they nerfed Thag’s hammer, a weapon prety rare to drop, for instance. That pissed me right off. It’s a beautiful hammer that should be freaking amazing! What sense is there in getting a worse legendary after going through that dungeon than the one you get after killing a croc?
Imo, very rare legendaries should have an attribute that conferred them everlasting status. Tier S legendaries, but you would have to go through an epic battle to get them. The difficulty getting them should be proportional to their characteristics.
No. But it should be a yes. If that makes sense.
But you bring up a great point.
I would so love this update. In fact I say there needs to be an inverse relationship with knowledge and attributes. As you age in wisdom, your body deteriorates. I think 2 year life spans are within reason and start fresh again. Forcing people to restart vs hoard like dragons.
Do you like to be hated, is it, @erjoh ? ![]()
If that was so from the start, maybe people could see the fun in it. But implementing something like that now would cause general rioting. ![]()
To be entirely fair, the request to buff legendaries was a big tent.
Running a gamut from those who wanted Legendaries to be Legendary, both in power and in what is required to get them, all the way to those who really wanted mass produced options to rival vault gear, but available on the Exiled Lands. There were many points in between and to the sides.
/End targeted response
On a personal level, this one is pleased with the current power level, concerned with how easy it is to get a seat at the roulette table, and less enthused about the break rate.
Mind you, this one would also be in favour of (this one prepares for the hate) Thralls not being able to use legendaries of any variety effectively. Sword of Crom restriction, but for all the gold borders.
Those with fully broken wills, unable to even influence their own destinies, cannot fully wield such power.
I would only apply that to top tier legendaries, @LostBrythunian . Player only. If they have op gear, there we go again with the cries about thralls being too op, when the player chose to make them so by equiping them with the best weapon in game. Then, those less blessed with rng luck suffer because their thralls suddenly are too fragile if they don’t have S tier gear. Anyway, we’re diverging. They already nerfed thralls again and I suspect legendaries being very strong was the reason…
Not exactly a tangent.
One of this one’s concerns is that Thrall will become Legendary Weapon and Armour caddy for exactly the reason that the Legendaries cannot be repaired.
Too good to put on the filthy exile, reserved for Thrall use only…
A particular sub division of the megalixir paradox.
Of course they will, @LostBrythunian .
This is only really gonna work on pc. Console doesn’t have any text chats, and on PlayStation we have very little in the way of contacting via messages anyone if their settings aren’t set to be open to anyone beyond their friends list. It’s actually pretty common you can’t interact with someone “due to their settings.” The economy is only affective if Funcom allows us to interact with the community on our servers. I’d love to do this, but currently there’s just no options.
