I have been lucky so far. Never had a problem.
Allow me brother to add something to this
. You could craft legendary repair kits BUT you needed purge blacksmith.
Purge blacksmiths and purge armorers were so f… g rare that you were gaining this boon really late game, as a rewarding for playing so far. I remember not getting a purge blacksmith before i already have 400 legendary repairs in a chest ![]()

.
I know that you know all these, i just reminded you, after all you are my god in the religion of farmers
.
Oh yes. Before Siptah, Axe of the Lion was apart of my build and I’d farm a few of those.
My last archer took about 7 or 8 kills to get that one. A few more for a second one.
I’m used to farming things such as Epic Weapon pieces, Flowing Black Silk Sashes, and Pegasus Cloaks in Everquest. A few dozen hours is child’s play.
When you’ve farmed a NPC that has a spawn rate of 18 hours, and has a 50% chance to skip a spawn, and doesn’t drop the item you are looking for 100% of the time. We’ll talk about randomness.
Right now you farm a NPC with a measly 15-30 minute respawn. But you’re not farming just one boss, but how many in each rotation again? Because you’re sharing a server with far less than a few thousand other players.
I don´t think that this will happen for all common legi weapons unless they drastically nerf the dropchance of all legendary items.
It is very easy to obtain a legendary weapons. You pretty early on get them even without fighting if you know where to look for. And with a little luck of RNG ofc.
Lets not forget that non repairable legendaries are not a new feature in Conan. We already had this years ago. And people where fine with it for the most part. They used their legendaries and had fights in pvp about spots and it worked.
Most legendaries are common items, there is a ton of legendaries in the game. And the only change that we will encounter is that people use different weapons now instead of 1 or 2. But this not neces. mean that they will switch from sword to axe to spear and vice versa. They often just use a different weapon from the same category. If you understand what I mean. The weapon types they are feeling comfortable playing with.
There is no reason not to use a legendary weapon because they are easy to obtain.
The only problem I see is the use of rare items. And therefore I think Funcom should leave legendary repairkits in the game. Bosses should drop a repairkit once in a while. So that people have a chance to farm those and use it on their most rare or “beloved” legendary items. Another solution would be to make rare items spawn more often so they aren´t rare anymore.
So i’m still in an alternative game, just now i did a turn in unammed city, kiled 10 boss in doing the tour of whole city, one legendry drop only on the 10 kills (2 run), well i agree was not lucky with rng, but average is 1 drop from 5 boss kills here, and do not even talk on the wine ceylar dungeon where it is even worst.
but may be they change the drop rate in age of war that i have not checked, but actual state is rare drop taking really lot of time.
This one is in general agreement, especially that getting a rando legendary is very easy (part of why this one would prefer repairing them, if ever available, be gated behind level 60+ and it’s own feat) but has picked the two sticky wickets this one has wibbles with.
To be certain, a 1 handed sword strength user, or dagger agility fighter is going to be fine.
But the Legendaries are not spread evenly across Strength and Agility weapons. That this one has found. Is this a balance point against the prowess of rolling thrust in the current stamina economy? This one knows not whether this is by design or happenstance.
In general, often…
The issues circles around to the few legendaries that are more than just stat sticks.
Such as the two previously mentioned Agility Spears.
If there were more Agility Spear options, it would be a different story. This one would shrug and say use the lower stat item if a legendary isn’t handy. But in the case of these, the Agility Greatsword, and a few others, it becomes a bit of a rough spot. Rougher still when we consider how few Legendary Shortswords and Claws/Katars are in the Exiled Lands pool.
In general, this one supports Legendaries being more than just numbers, no matter how big. However, when the Legendaries succeed in being unique, it runs also into the problem of them being unique.
Also, RNGesus can just arbitrarily decide no Legendary Axes for you, Axe-loving Axe-a-lotl. Or worse yet, have exactly one and then enjoy a fine collection of Warhammers and daggers.
That’s along the lines this one was thinking with the dismantle Legendaries to get the materials to repair Legendaries idea. But at about a 7-1 ratio. Don’t want it to be too easy, just a fall back in case nothing of the desired type drops.
This one does find it amusing that in the same streak that it was noted that server wipes are a hard no because removing people’s digital toys causes them to quit, we see this paradoxical championing of “nothing lasts forever”.
Jimbo was able to get his first Legendary on a brand new character within 45 minutes of creating it. He wasn’t even level 25. This was on the public beta for Age of War.
That ease of obtaining needs a look at, badly.
from a merchand or from a drop of unnamed city at level 25?
The exchange between @azaroth and @Taemien does highlight something.
That being the difference between a Legendary that drops from a specific boss and then only rarely, and a Legendary that is found in a Skeleton key chest.
TLDR;
Skeleton keys = Easy, low hanging fruit, obtain within minutes of starting a new game as a skilled player with good connection.
Boss loot table drop = Pain in the fourth point of contact, possibly grind for days, exercise in futility, why are we even alive, just to suffer?
Is this where that meme “We are not the same” applies?
Thank you ![]()
Skeleton Key, those legendaries have buffed statistics now. They aren’t simply weird looking Star Metal clones.
Your comment only makes sense in pvp. Otherwise why would you care what other people carry in their hotbars?
And since “pvp” is 99% about destroying bases offline, why do we care?
You mean inferior clones? Perhaps they would now have even comparable stats… dare I dream even better stats?
Same reason we’ve used damage meters and parsers in PVE games for the past 25 years.
i hope they did a difference between commun legendary and rare and very rare legendary drop from boss in the weapons table stats, and i also hope they took in account time to go farm and craft for obsidian weapons, and star metal or black ice weapins in comparaison of what you can get with commun legendary weapon buffed.
I cannot imagine devs would call skeleton key drops as “legendary”. I think the new “unique” category might be for those.
But it doesnt matter how good a legendary weapon is, it could have triple the stats of any other weapon in the game for all I care. Grinding for weeks for an item that breaks down and can be stolen is not worth pursuing.
On the other hand, it would be far cooler if only one instance of a legendary weapon existed on a server. It wouldnt degrade. If a player acquires it, then they have it and other players could only steal it for themselves rather than get it from the boss. If it decays, it would go back to the boss. Ofc this only applies to the pvp server but wouldnt it be cooler that way?
Yes.
10^100 yes.
In addition to weapons and armour…
Then we might see some artifacts like the Heart of Ahriman or other truely mighty and region impacting relics that could be contested over.
With the new treasure placement system, they could be displayed, and must be displayed to be impactful, and thus can be stolen… Some may be extremely large and encumber and be moved like the larger treasure items.
The worst/most puissant of them might even mark their location on the map or create corrupting miasma…
To prevent players just hiding such items for good, we could combine this by making the legendary items detectable with the detect corruption spell. So players could find out where the item is located. Currently that spell is kinda pointless fluff.
I think overall this would make server/clan warfare much more interesting.

Is that Legendary enough? Its 60pts higher in damage than a base Star Metal Axe. I didn’t even put a weapon fitting on that.
This one deeply loves capture the flag games.
Especially when the flag is also an automatic shotgun or flamethrower bagpipes.
One possible consideration, in the case of weapons and armour, is a decay timer. But it only advances when the weapon isn’t in the hot bar or the armour isn’t worn. A use it or lose it scenario, and reflective of the idea that powerful items seek out those who would use them, or wait in ruins, rather than tolerate existence on a mantle or display rack.
But this one is spinning far afield into fanciful dream land.
@Taemien , have you figured out what Predatory does on that axe yet? This one only had time to look at the stats.
I have actually, its like the predatory blade. And thank God because a 100+ damage one handed axe would be atrocious lol.
On another note, Aja’s Bane (pretty common 1 Handed Mace) got the Executioner effect. That’s going to be a little favorite of mine. Especially on my main thrall.
