Madman's journal missing

I’m not sure if it’s the right place to post this, but it feels like it.

I’m kinda stuck, and cannot progress with the questline for the Hand of Glory faction. And what is worse, I can’t enter the Island of Iron Statues anymore.

Last time I went to the island, I killed the madman, but couldn’t find his journal (I searched the hut inch by inch, and outside too), so I couldn’t start the quest Manuscript of a Madman. Then I killed the monkey man and left.
When I came back to Artus a few days later, he gave me only the quest for Dead Man’s Hand, but not the one for the Island of Iron Statues. And it’s been like that ever since.

As much as I’d like to finish the Hand of Glory faction questline and get to rank 4 with them, my main concern remains the inability to farm the Island of Iron Statues for rare trophies anymore.

if you are or have been f2p when you were doing those adventures, did you have a quest update while your quest journal was overflowing ?

I don’t recall exactly when (it might be at the time I was doing the quest), but there was a week or so I was f2p, as my payment was not processed and it was with status “pending”. Funcom finally accepted it after several emails to the support, from me and other guildies.

I’m not sure if I had a quest update, but it’s unlikely, as I did not find the journal, and I never received the quest “Manuscript of a Madman” in the first place.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I think you get a quest from one of the priests at the temple.

Nope, no quests there for this conq.

if you have the issue of a disappeared quest when f2p with an overflow on the quest journal, you will need to start a petition to get that quest back.
it typically makes a quest disappear from the journal when it advances to the next step.

You don’t need the “Manuscript of a Madman” to enter the island. Wich quests did you finish on the island? You get the 1st quest “Whom the gods love die young” from the Curator at the temple. 2nd quest is “The Cartographer” from Artus. 3d quest should be “A New Beginning for the Brotherhood” from Artus and you can enter the island.

A New Beginning for the Brotherhood, as I killed the man-ape and got my reward at the end. And that was the last thing I did there. Since then, Artus has no longer given me the quest.

I’ve done the other two quests already, and I’ve been doing the New Beginning and the Dead Man’s quest together regularly, farming rares.

did you get the quest reward or just the loot from the boss/chest ?

I’m not sure, but I must have, as it’s already kinda standard procedure for me. I’ve been doing this a lot lately.
Anyway, I started a petition regarding the missing quest. Thanks for the suggestion.
