Definately. Seeing it in action would make one work that much harder to get it built too. When I first found it, I wanted nothing more than to take it for a test run.

I don’t understand… can someone enlighten me please?? I have read yours now and many others about this maproom. I was under the impression when I arrived at the maproom in the unnamed city that the man would be there and teach me how to make it… do I have this all wrong, because there was no man there and nothing came of the long awaited venture out there.
His non-appearance seems to be an intermittent bug. I myself didnt get him to appear until the third or fourth attempt. I believe that whether he appears or not is also impacted upon by whether you enter through the main door or the hole in the ceiling. When he did appear on my game it was when I entered climbing down via the ceiling. Theres no fool proof way. Try to travel away and back again entering through both exits. Good luck.

Thanks I’ll try that. There was a lot of build up before entering only to find nobody there and I thought I was going to be given the ability to make a map room from visiting there first… is all I need is the recipe? Or do I need to visit with him first?
Yeah I know that feeling first hand, and if you are a lower level, just braving your way through the Unnamed City is a challenging ordeal within itself. He gives you the recipe through a conversation option when you talk to him, this being ‘Learn Religion: Cartographer’. It then permanently unlocks in your Feats menu. You will then find the crafting option in your hand-crafting menu. He is a ghost named the archivist. Let me know how you get on, or if you need more help ok.

But make a quest out of it. Something we have to do to make it functional and it then only those that complete can use it.
I don’t like scary, either. I entered the volcano once and it happened to be from the entrance that led directly to the obelisk. I touched it and left immediately. I can now teleport directly into the volcano, but I can’t think of a reason why I would want to. I’m allergic to stress.

Vattende Youre so right about how big and underused it is. Aside from maybe some dragon bone here and there, it just doesnt have any unique resources which make it worth returning to over and over. Its a shame, as it does give off such a sense of intrigue. I have always felt that stone nodes there should have a random chance of dropping Corrupted Stone when harvested. Given the dark magic and corruption there, it would make sense.
