Same problem here. The lag comes in cycles where it starts out fine with 60fps then it declines over 30 or so seconds down to 3-4 fps where it stays for a while, then it spikes up to 60 again. The circles continues.
Dedicated max spec server with 5 people
My cpu is a 4820k oc’ed to 4.7Ghz
Gpu: Msi GTX 1070
Ram: 32gig DDR3 1833Mhz
How can they log into any server and see the issue, when it’s not present for everybody? Myself included (despite my darndest to see the issue in action first hand, my server and game have been active for 2 hours now).
I am just trying to help in what little ways I can though.
Are all 5 people on the server seeing the same Wolfram?
Thank god it’s not just me, and it’s not my mods (probably), since a bunch of the mods would cause my bases to collapse if I turned them off. The way it’s been behaving for me today is that it’s fine for about half an hour, and then declines into a cycle of running at 1-3fps for about a minute, and then suddenly dumping whatever was building up in that time and running normally for about five seconds. Wolfram’s description is closest to what it’s been doing for me. I just lurched my way halfway through the Wine Cellar and then had to quit because I was getting a headache from the stop-motion. Before that I was building + meteor harvesting, and was having issues there with frost giants not spawning in (the Outcast is just gone for me today, no matter what), and one whole section of the northern area where it never loaded past the PSX-level polygons. I’m already on the lowest possible graphics settings, and I’ve disabled all non-crucial mods, but it’s still like this, and unplayable. I hope Funcom fixes this soon, I’m trying to work on a build.
Single player only, 2.2Ghz CPU, 10GB memory, Nvidia GeForce 940M GPU. Not that the problem is on my end, I don’t think.
Our community has around 900 players, 350 active right now, and I have yet to hear one of them say that they are not having this problem. Over 40 players active anytime of the day when not full. I gladly invite anyone to join and check if they have the issue or not. And I can assure you will find low potato pcs as well as top gaming ones. And, to make things worse, this is not the only server I’ve checked after update, just to be sure it wasn’t a server issue, and lo and behold… same fps drops in other two. At that point I exited the game and just will wait for the next fix, I’ve other things to do, and I’ve posted my disgust enough today. Sorry if it sounded harsh, I love CE and wish it would succeed, but the way things are beeing handled is not the best imho.
Our server also has this problem. Every single player is affected regardless of map location, computer, or world location. Locations on the map won’t load at all when teleporting, for many people. Any animation except jumping seems to lower FPS to a significant degree.
The FPS issue seems to gradually get worse the longer players are online, soft-logging seems to alleviate it for a few minutes. But the process starts over. Players experience FPS drops down to 4-5fps for a few seconds before it jumps back to normal, then gradually gets worse of the course of about a minute. This happens over and over until the game’s frame-rate gets so bad there’s no choice but to re-log.
We play on a modded RP server, that was just wiped last night.
Apologies if I came off that way, but I didn’t mean to suggest it was because of a hardware limitation or anything. I don’t have anything even resembling a theory as to why some players are seeing it and other’s are not. At this point I would like to see it occur on my PC just so I can play around and try some stuff.
Almost every report I’ve seen is modded so far. Off the top of my head, there was one report on a official server, and another on a non modded single player. Not sure if there is a connection there (like maybe it’s more obvious on modded servers?) or if it’s just coincidental.
This is my system with terrible FPS.
Graphics card RTX 2070
IntelR core ™ i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20 GHZ (12 CPUs) ~ 3.2GHz
There is 32 players on the server that have the same issue. The Major FPS is players that have purchased the Derketo DLC. But both are un-playble. Please funcom bug fix asap. Dont do the new in relic hunter city , dungeon just lags the whole server.
Same problem as the others here, occasionally hitting 40fps but then dropping to 1-5fps for long periods and parts of the map not rendering, both on my own server with mods and in single player with no mods.
Intel Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHZ
16GB RAM
AMD Radeon R9 200 / HD 7900 Series
I was fine for the first 10 minutes i was on. Then the FPS drop would hit and then randomly after several minutes go back to normal. I also noticed that my character was not showing up on the character panel. Same with armor pieces. Just adding the extra info.
So, my problem has evolved into its final form. The FPS issues seem to have stopped, but in their place, the world ended. Other than the things I’ve built, the whole map is just… gone. Animals etc just spawn and start falling as the ground opens up beneath their feet to suck them into the unforgiving abyss below
Intel i7-7700k 8 core
16GB RAM
NVIDIA GTX-1070 Ti
MSI
Windows 10
My FPS goes from more than 60 to 15 when I am close to buildings. If I just walk to a empty space, FPS rise up to >60 again. When I go close to building, FPS drop to 10-15.
It seens to me the wrong version made it into livr update, I had the testlive version and changed to live today and I have not experienced any of this.
my system is pretty low end by today standarts:
Amd Fx 8320e 3.2 Ghz 8 cores
Amd Rx 480 4 Gb
8 Gb RAM
Windows 10
So my hypothesis is whoever had testlive dosent have the problem. If this is the case, the version that went live is not the same as was in testlive.
Also I have Conan Exiles on xbox and didnt notice any problems there too.
Getting all the same FPS drops and world loading issues on top of that. Lag spikes down to 4 or 5 frames, seem to last at least 2 or 3 minutes at a time. Was running at a steady 45+ frames before update. World loading and frame rate seems to get worse the farther i go from where I logged in at. On a singleplayer world with a lot of mods that I’d rather not uninstall.
EDIT:
As Multigun pointed out, it might help if I posted my mods list and load order.

Side note, if anybody felt like pointing out a better load order, that would be fantastic. I feel like mine is all over the place.
Seems like that the vast majority of the reports are modded private servers or single player. Maybe in addition to the other relevant information, people could also post their mod lists?
You don’t need to uninstall if you want to try testing it out without mods. You don’t have to do all of the below if you don’t have time, or it’s too much of a hassle. But if you would like to test without mods, this is what you can do.
Backup the following:
\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Mods
Find your modlist.txt and back it up (make a copy and rename it). Then, open up the main modlist.txt and empty it.
Next, backup and rename this entire folder →
\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved
The most important file is the game.db, but backing up the entire “Saved” folder is useful as well.
Start a new game after you have done so, to ensure a fresh new world.
When all done, rename your backups back to “modlist.txt” and “Saved” so the game knows to use those files, and it will be as if nothing had changed. And if you want to be extra careful, make multiple backups, it doesn’t hurt anything to do so
Honestly I’m just praying it doesn’t take them much to sort it out. I started a server recently with the intention to open it up as an RP server recently, and me and a friend have been hard at work building things all day every day since. Would rather not lose anything, not that i know if that would even happen
