Meteorite protection during purge

Guys, I’m asking for advice. I want to build a protective canopy over the coffer and battle platform using T3 building blocks. For example, ceiling-column-ceiling. Has anyone tried to see if such a three-layer structure can withstand meteorite impacts?

Simple answer:
It won’t matter how thick you build. Meteors will win.

So the only guarantee is to put the base in a cave (or under a natural canopy)?

Or the volcano. Depending on where you place it, the purge may burn to death before they get anywhere near your treasure

@Lucidique it goes without saying, I am now looking into the issue of protection from meteorites only.

Hmm, I’d run a few tests in single player mode first. Try a cave, an alcove, then the location where your base is on your primary server to get the exact spawn point for the purge. Then place a lone guard tower just far enough away from your base that it’s not classed as a primary target and make sure it’s along the purge pathing route

The only real solution that doesn’t involve impenetrable terrain is to assassinate the mage before the meteors drop.

I kinda thought golems and sorcerers were only in levels 9 and 10. Kind of a bummer if I wanna skip them during an 8. :unamused:

they sometimes hit the ground withou hitting the ceilings, i had purges that a meteor destroyed the path to the coffer without hitting the roof, it was intact and the floor under it was destroyed

This is not a guarantee because he cannot always be killed. For example, if the base is far away, you won’t be able to kill him.
But what if you still put the coffer in the cave?

Golems appear already at the 6th level, and there are two types - gas and exploding.
And meteorites fall on the 9th and 10th.

So no meteorites on 8?

I did several level 8 purges, there were a ton of golems, but no meteorites.

Build your base in a cave, or Lemurian ruins. That or be on point with killing the starcaller anyway you can.

If the base is far away it is a risk to go kill him.
Your rat trap must be designed to function without you babysitting it. More difficult now that we have thieves and golems, but not impossible.

The summoned meteors work like any other in game meteors. They come streaming down, inflicting massive structural and personal damage until they hit the mesh. Once they hit permanent/non destructible terrain, they stop and wait for you to harvest them.

That having been said, many of the locations that would offer this sort of protection also will fail to spawn a purge because cowardice is a greater virtue than greed amongst the minions of Ctesphon.

I understand

OK

Thanks to everyone who responded! Problem solved.

But you will still get 1 round of meteor rain guaranted, i was camping his spawn and killed it in the moment it showed up, but i meteor dropped any way. At least 1 wave, and it was enough to cause a lot of damage, so faster we kill it is better

The main thing is that meteors will not fall on my base and my defenders.
Let the meteors fall on the attacking golems.
I allow!

I did this using the jungle ruins, especially the guiding light ruin on top. All the meteors were above to harvest them after the purge ended.
Yet i have to warn you that in this particular spot 1 on 5 purges worked. Most of them were stopping in the middle with the message that attackers cannot reach the treasury. It becomes really frustrating if you ask me. I never tried the ruins close to Den. They are way wider and have huge spawn area for purge camps.
In this challenge…

… I had a beautiful purge base in Darfari lands. I did the mistake to create routes with foundations so after lvl8 purges started i was loosing the finishing. It was very difficult to be on time and kill the sorcerer, so until i reach him and kill him one shower already had dropped and break my paths. After 2 minutes the purges were stopping. So i had to think a way and jungle ruins was my best option since then. But like i told you, especially lvl 9 it was omg, they were stopping without any reason. Later on i fixed with @sestus2009 on Wyrms bane the same purge base. We had completion problems to almost all the lvls. So i finally took the decision and never use the jungle ruins again.
Good luck m8 :metal:.

That’s why I don’t want to mess with meteors and want to avoid them altogether.
But this is interesting: did you have meteors in the level 8 purge? I have done several of these purges, but have never seen any meteors.
