Mods and September 1st Release Date

@Multigun Can you make a mod that asserts velocity for moving objects? Moving 10 feet per second or less it would check. The assertion would disable any faster movement. Do you know of another mod maker that would be interested to make and test it on the PC?

Don’t know what you are asking for. But to be honest, I have very clearly stated in this thread that mod creators are under extreme pressure to get things done in time. Why would I suddenly be taking on making more free mods for people, now, of all times?

You can offer a commission to people on the modding discord, there is a channel for that. But I won’t be taking on any more requests or suggestions, especially concerning new projects entirely, from the general public for a very long time.

Can you? Devkit’s free to download.

My first question was just yes or no since you know the devkit. That’s why I also asked if you know somebody.

I don’t know that discord channel.

If there is a way to intercept the variables and velocity for moving objects, yes I can.

If thee was a vr headset for it, I’d be on it. There is not, so the devkit/game doesn’t go on my PC.

Do you know of someone?

The man in the mirror. He’s a lot better at learning and doing things than asking unpaid modders to do even more thankless work.

It’s just low hanging fruit to me.

I’m pretty sure the whole thing is just a kerfuffle over some misplaced grammar. The impression I got is that Dzonatas was asking Multigun if it was just possible - a lot of people will use ā€˜can you’ in a shorthand where ā€˜you’ doesn’t mean YOU (directed at the reader), but rather ā€˜one’ (I used to get in trouble in highschool english a lot because of that). Directing him to it with an @ and given the surrounding circumstances it can easily be misconstrued.

There’s no need to go immediately to snippy offense, jimbo.

I hope that’s the case.

Seen too many people, every update and even already now lashing out and attacking the modders and the devs both because the mods they freely download and use aren’t instantly up to date.

Already been pruning some bad eggs from discord lately over it, and it’s only going to go downhill from there.

Perfectly understandable. The habit of not using ā€˜you’ rather than ā€˜one’ in a general statement that isn’t directed was one I had to work hard to break all those years ago (comma splices were even harder) so it’s something I’m familiar with.

 Old-latin uses the ā€œyou I ā€ construct.

This should be ordinary. I’m on a budget, so… um. We are lucky the modders aren’t being compared to hackers, 24/7/365.25. Hmm.

It was explained to me more as a matter of the statement addressing the reader directly rather a nebulous general ā€˜you’ that most people naturally would assume it to be. Given the surrounding nonsense that the 3.0 update and the suddenly less than ā€˜ample time’ between the devkit update and patch going live - Multigun and others are understandably under a hell of a lot of pressure now and misunderstandings are that much easier.

I’m pretty sure the post you replied to made absolutely no mention of any mods or scripts and simply stated that the release is being rushed and the game is still full of bugs (not the mods… the game…)

Yes, how loyal of them to rush to push out an unfinished game that should still be in the testing phase and is full of bugs just to align it with… idk… September? Especially after implying that there would be way more time :man_facepalming:  I’m sure the community will be extra happy making all those complaint posts all over the internet afterwards.

reading is obviously not your strength. but that’s ok. i don’t know it differently from this community and therefore i’m not surprised. only a small part reads comments/topics/announcements/notes completely and the part of those who read and also understand them is again significantly smaller.

this hasty release and the new ā€œmod bashingā€ system of funcom will unfortunately attract more guys like you. i am looking forward

Try reading the title of the thread and the complaint then the post I replied to.

Ah yes, they must be absolutely MAD for suggesting to delay the release of the update by a week to make sure they work out the many many bugs that still exist in the testlive version of the game before it goes to live. Trust me, there WILL be plenty of rage when it hits and is filled with bugs, and morons like you will be the first to sound that rage alarm. Always insisting on everything NOW yet crying at the drop of a hat when everything isn’t 100% perfect. Look at the history of EVERY SINGLE UPDATE this game has had and look at all the rage post made due to bugs which they have contained. Yeah, delaying it another week isn’t going to actually hurt anyone.

How about you know ā€œyour roleā€. Shove your extremely ignorant and arrogant attitude and stop acting like a child. Funcom is a company, they are not loyal to any one aspect of the community over any other. They are loyal to their bottom line. That being said, when a company says that they will release the dev kit for an extended period, longer than usual, due to the size and intricacies of this update, and then release it for a SHORTER than usual time (the usual time being a minimum of 7 days, this massive update however is only being given 5 days) then yes, it can easilly be viewed in the manner described in the manner that @Testerle had done so. If you cannot comprehend that, then that is your problem and no one else’s.

@Multigun This is the exact kind of thing your post is trying to avoid, yet here we are. As a person who does play with mods, I have always known that it takes times for mods to come in line with updates like this because mod authors are not paid corporations and do this for the community they love, and the game that they love, on their own free time. I have always supported mod authors and always will. :innocent:

maybe you should read and at least try to understand what it’s about

yes I expect a lot and probably too much… hopeless… :man_shrugging:

The guy has already explained he didn’t mean it that way, rather in the ā€œis it possible?ā€ way. Probably poor timing to ask @Multigun in a thread where he’s actually asking for space, but not the worst of intentions.

If it’s at all possible to have a few of you to help field the inevitable complaints at Steam, it would be ideal. Nobody gets to kick my pal Multigun, or Joshtech or any of the other illustrious and awesome Mod contributors.

removed json from devkit do they know much they have broken by doing that, bad move against modders considering funcom get most of theyre ideas from modders

JSON formats can be done with ā€˜print’ statements and analyzed just as easy. Study the JSON reference. There is no need to have a library on it unless you need trick processing hacks, like between Javascript and PHP.
