I’ve recently started playing this game and the only thing that concerns me is the really small options of base defense in the game. It seems like we only have thralls and mines, players told me thralls are useless and mines arent that great but i hope that isn’t true because atleast mines sound pretty fun and thralls could work like turrets.
There are really fun traps in survival games like trap doors, just a floor that opens when an unknown player goes on top of it and closes a second later, it doesn’t necessarily have to close but that’s how it was in citadel forged with fire and it was really fun to use and build a base around. It makes for intense raiding since you have to watch out for trap floors and if you go into one you need to break your way out. It makes building a lot funner as well. With trap doors we could have something like spike pits or acid pools that deal damage to the player over while they’re on it.
How about a turret that shoots when you walk in front of it, kinda like the things in diablo while you’re going through a dungeon?
One interesting thing I saw is a bubble that makes people take damage over time when they’re in it, this makes raiding a base intense because you have to do it quickly or use a lot of healing. It makes building bases funner because the more maze like you build it the longer people spend in it.
How about ceilings that have things fall from them when someone walks under them?
There are so many creative defensive structures that could be implemented but i’m just not seeing any right now in the game.
I think this helps everyone have more fun in the game, builders, raiders, solo players, team players.
