Unfortunately, since a recent update, my save game no longer loads and I haven’t changed anything. Whenever I try to load my save game, it takes forever to load. I once let it load for 2 hours and it still didn’t start. But when I start a new game, it works. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with any of my saved games. I have several saved games and backups and unfortunately none of them load. I play with mods but I doubt that it’s because of them, because otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to start a new game, right? And it’s not my PC’s fault either, because I sent the save game to a friend and it didn’t load on him either. I really don’t know what else to try. Can someone please help me? At least 400 hours of work went into the save game, all the buildings and more…
Same issue for me, and some members of my community. It seems the most recent hotfix broke something to do with loading old saves.
It will most likely be fixed, but in the meantime, I’ve backed up all my old saves into a separate folder and started a fresh game. I’m hoping that, when the fix to this issue comes, I can restore my old saves, verify my files and hopefully they will be fixed.
Not an ideal solution, but there is indeed a workaround. I also sent my save file to a friend and it took him close to 3 hours to load it, I feel your pain
Heya, even if Funcom will not fix this soon or at all because it is a mod-problem, you can find help in the “Admins United: Conan” Discord server, to get all informations and tools to fix your gameplay file.
Go to the “scipt-shop” to the thread “Script Generator: Funcom “None” Look-Up Fix Generator”
As LostElf says.
Modded servers were affected by the latest hotfix and now many take ages to load up. If you have Mods loaded, you need to check all the mod Discords of those mods to see if there are messages about the issue, and when last updated.
In many cases the script that @LostElf refers to, will sort the issues out, otherwise Wipes become the only (really unwanted) option.
I do not have reliable proof on it, but I have heard that some Admins sorted the issues out by deleting in their games placed stuff they knew to be from old mod content - a kind of selective wipe. In some cases this appeared to have worked…
