In addition to worker thralls being a part of the new settlement, they have inventories - they act like other thralls in this regard.
As a PVP player that works in tight spaces, maximization of that space is vital for workflow, ease of access to important items and avoidance of additional stresses via quick and thoughtful base design. Trust me, it might look like a mess but for someone who makes the mess it is in its rightful place
I realize I am a minority. But I also know that there are PVE players who build small too and RPers that might also maximize small places for their storyline.
However, this is something that has been an annoyance since I started testing⊠and I think itâs going to be a pain for anyone regardless of base design.
I never paid this much attention before but a thralls inventory interaction area is bigger than I realized.
So if you intend your workers to be toiling away in your settlement they will get in the way. Constantly. If they work as intended, then theyâll be body blocking you. If the settlement system breaks, wherever this happens, theyâll be in the way.
IF they stay on a bench, theyâll be in the way there too. My gosh, my patience is thin lol This is a my biggest gripe here.
So I thought Iâd be smart eh? Iâd emote them sitting down. Well, because I didnât really use emotes aside from taunting and trying to be silly myself, I didnât realize that the thralls retain their standing inventory interaction areas⊠sigh.
What is interesting? If you attack the area above an emote sitting thrall it doesnât hurt them, you have to have your crosshair directly on them. Iâm not really sure if based on this factor I should file it as a bug report as I realize there are limitations to the system⊠maybe.
Anyway, just something for everyone to think about once the update to live comes out. You might have to make some slight adjustments in your gameplay as I did. Or, be glad that the settlement is broken and they can be placed inside of 1x1s deep in the base XD
