Need help answering a Question

I’m new to these forums, but I’ve been playing Exiles for about a year now. I was wondering how to report something that’s happening on an official server? Thanks!

It depends, if it is an exploit in a private message to a community support - Hugo or Ignasis. If griefing or harassment, I am sorry but you have to deal with that yourself as the official servers have no GM support. If it is a bug, in the bug section for your platform. For server issues, probably at g-portal (server host) directly considering the long Easter break.

Thank you. I don’t seem to be able to PM or even mention anyone or other users. Narelle, could you mention them, Hugo and / or Ignasis here? Once again…thank you very much for your help. I look forward to contributing to this community, I honestly didn’t even realize this existed.

Here are some links that might prove handy depending on what you need to report:

@Hugo @Ignasi, could you please enable @drZAL’s ability to send a DM?

Welcome to the comunity, you were really lucky to have reply from 2 wonderful members of this community. Not all the members are this good :joy::joy::joy:. Yet again stay tuned, you will learn a lot and enjoy more, there is nothing that you will say that will sock us, because anything that happens to you, most probably happened to us too :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. Still if you want privacy, proceed the way you think is better. Again welcome to the comunity :+1:.

Generally speaking, the community is great when it comes to helping players with specific questions or problems. We have a lot of helpful, knowledgeable and active members.

When it comes to, erm, debating and presenting opinions, well, the forums are like any social media. Gamers tend to be a passionate crowd, and when discussing something they’re emotionally invested in, such as this game, they have a tendency to sometimes express themselves in a colorful manner. This may make the forums seem like a toxic environment, but ultimately, we all want the best for the game we all play, even if we don’t necessarily agree on what the “best for the game” is.

Most of the time, reports won’t result in immediate and decisive action, which to us players may look like Funcom isn’t doing anything. If it’s an exploit, they’ll attempt to fix the exploit rather than the individual players. This takes time and won’t have immediately visible effects. In cases where they take action against individuals, they won’t report it to us because of player privacy reasons.

I’m also reasonably certain that you don’t have actual statistics regarding Funcom’s activity on player reports, so any percentages you present are nothing more than guesses, most likely colored by your personal bias.

It would please me to see Funcom come crashing down on exploiters and rulebreakers and rule their game worlds with an iron fist, but that’s not an approach for which they have resources, and even if they did, it may not be the approach they’d choose. Nevertheless, it’s not fruitful to accuse them of inaction when we don’t have any actual evidence on how much they intervene - after all, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
