You need the blacksmith with the sword sign.
If you have that, it comes out with a standard damage of 90 DMG.
Then just put the fencer attachment on it and you have a damage of 100 DMG.
I experiment a lot with weapons, armor and tools.
Very easy.
I keep asking myself why so few are so willing to experiment.
Yes really with the fencer.
Tried that out back in Exiles land, my sword from Crom got 101DMG with it and since then I’ve only used the attachment for weapons.
Since my thralls that accompany me always have a club instead of a sword, I don’t need the armor penetration thing.
Perfect, then have fun slaughtering with your new gladius.
I use the Gladius on both maps and from my point of view I can say that I am very satisfied with it.
But it always depends on the way you play.

Nope- Thralls are overpowered. When I , as a player, can watch a thrall kill a world boss- without lifting a finger-thats bad.
We wait till 3.0 comes to testlive and feedback it.
I’m tempted to record a T3 clearing the wine cellar now. What you say here is pilot error. If the thrall is doing dumb things what does that say about the thrall operator? YOU are in control - this isn’t the Outer Limits after all. And if you’re no good at controlling a thrall (or can’t for some other reason) that’s really the ONLY time they need user intervention.
Still have lag on single player.
I dunno if I will or not but a couple of things here.
I like an interesting challenge in the games I play. The Wine Cellar at 3 months or so past level 60 is not a challenge and isn’t very interesting after the second time through. Controlling a thrall accurately and skillfully adds a dimension of interest and fun almost like an additional puzzle aspect. This increases the fun, not decreases it. Sure, if you’re approaching the dungeon as a utilitarian grinder then the stronger the thrall the better but… Anyway, how much fun you’re getting out of it is dependent on your headspace and expectations, etc…
Not sure what you’re talking about with “lag” here??? There is no leg for me in servers nor in SP. I can’t tell the difference in performance between SP and a proper official server - at all. If you can it’s either something to do with the console platform or your server selection.
@Marcospt
Lags are my fault. I play in an old console and wireless to a line that it is not stable since I live in a village of an island of Greece. No matter if I pay 100mbps connection, I never get more than 35 and sometimes I just loose connection, just like that!
@TeleTesselator is playing in an advanced machine, pc, and from what I understand in Japan, that wireless internet was known there before I knew that internet exists . So it is highly possible he doesn’t experience lags like I do, or not at all. I am really sorry I missed your conversation here, I just replied to this message. I want to inform you both that you have my greatest sympathy and I respect you both A LOT.
Thank you both, I am a bit sensitive in these issues, you know me, I got almost fully white hair and still a child in these issues, I beg you both for forgiveness about it. @Marcospt I believe it’s on Playstation because thus game was originally fixed for pc and adopted to consoles too, but @TeleTesselator that’s been (or still is) on the gaming market surely can say better. Then i have an impression that in some points gpotal servers are “not the best” and this maybe sometimes the reason too. Then again once @Taemien told me that the age of these servers may cause bad performance issues too. A lot of beloved members in the past took the effort to explain me how things work and I really appreciate it, but my knowledge in these issues makes me completely worthless in a technical conversation, about gaming not, only how it works I am useless , so I can only listen and maybe understand, that’s about me
.
Besides Rockslide with spinning combo bug, I am personally fine with the bosses with current patch even after they nerf thralls to half. We will wait and see how individuals’ sorcery powers are strong.
I wonder if I need to clarify this a bit? Currently and for the past 2 weeks or so I have not experienced any lag. Over the past 18 months there have been periods where server lag was a thing. Usually lasting a couple of weeks at a time. FC updates and changes their server code (and maybe system settings on their server nodes) much more often than they publish in public announcements with readmes, “changes” and so on. About once a week or so something is changed without us knowing or being told about it. You can find these PC platform change-logs online if you look hard enough. So if you search these forums and the bug report sections you will see me occasionally reporting or commenting on both server and client lag.
Also what is perceived as server lag can be explained by MANY things.
And there are just as many things which can contribute to client lag - although on consoles I would suspect there to be fewer and mostly due to machine state. Temperature, poor or dirty connectors, clogged fans, old or poor cables, etc. like that.
I believe it’s not Funcom code specific most of the time because I can go to Twitch and watch people play on the various consoles for hours and never or almost never experience any lag.
Nerf the bosses? They are already way to weak and to easy to defeat even without a thrall !!
Fc should make them stronger or at least a AI smarter because there is no challenge to defeat since a long time now.
Japan is a funny place technology wise - and even moreso when considering public access digital networks. USA is more advanced as far as what is available but it’s not uniformly implemented - where some areas have older or lower spec service than other areas. Japan has such places but usually it only affects a thousand or less people.
Whereas in the USA it affects very large suburban communities of tens or hundreds of thousands. Japan is extremely centralized! 99% of people live in places like this:
So the infrastructure and layout is optimal for uniform digital networks.
I dunno what 5G is TBH - that’s most often the language used for cellular networking (phones) no? WiFi 6 and WiFi 6E came to Japanese households about 2 years ago so now literally everyone has it. Watching tech or even social change in Japan is like watching a synchronized school of fish swim - a few at front change direction or mood and suddenly they all do. There’s a bit more diversity since the internet came to Japan but prior to that almost none. Currently most people have a connection speed (router to ISP) of 10G and a line speed (computer NIC to router) of 1G or 2.5G - likely at the end of 2023 “everyone” will have 2.5G with many people on 5G or 10G. I have 10G and 10G with the X470 Taichi Ultimate motherboard and a 10G internet connection speed ($45/mo.).
Yeah, it’s a cell-phone thing as I suspected: Inside Japan’s Unique Approach to 5G I don’t usually follow cellphone tech so I dunno much about it. Apparently it’s available on some phones over some carriers ( Find Out if 5G is Worth the Upgrade: A Multi-Country Analysis ) but it’s MUCH slower than WiFi 6. While WiFi 6 is 10Gbps and pretty much guaranteed to deliver low latency 6 to 8 Gbps - at least in my house anyway, the cellphone “5G” standard tops out at 1G (1Gbps). Like I say I dunno much about it but IIRC the Japanese government was (is) being very cautious and hesitant about implementing IOT which if I’m correct is tied up with “5G” networking and its standards.
Besides large corporations who may use 5G for machine control most people in Japan only seem to talk about WiFi 6 when it comes to home computers, gaming, and so forth. They also seem more concerned about having WiFi6 on their phones than “5G” as so many people try very hard to always access WiFi rather then using their phones’ carrier networking - in order to save hundreds or even thousands of dollars a month. It looks to me like the standards for both as physically implemented in the USA vs Japan produce different real-world speeds throughput and latency so a lot of what we might discuss would end up being apples and oranges. I for one am not ready to discuss it in any depth because my ignorance levels on these topics are too high and I’m not willing to read much more than I already have for this post.
You read all those articles and replied in under 6 minutes? Wow, you’re fast!
Also PlayStation 5 does NOT have 5G according to Sony and users who know. What it DOES have is WiFi 6. LOL
When did this become a lag, internet and etc topic. It was supposed to be a topic about nerfing bosses and enemies.
Actually ive taken a tier 3 thrall to a world boss and soloed it. Why? it got a +10 and a + 5 to its vitality.
So with elite armor and weapons yes it is soloable.
Now to someone whos experienced who has the top tier crafting ability, i dont think it will make much of a difference. But we will see.
Details of the new system in our hands first, then we judge.
