New Anti-Stacking Fence Foundation Limits in TestLive 2.8

I always choose Crom, I’m a day one of EA 2017 player.

I’m what my good friend @Barnes calls a “peaceful” PVPer
that basically means I wont hurt or raid you, unless you act aggressively to me first.

When the raid time went to evenings and weekends it severely hampered my ability to reciprocate if I get raided, because of my available free time.

If dragon power became a god magic only, I might as well go PVE because I would only be a loot piñata in PVP, and as those who know me would attest I would lose interest real quick.

never said it was used. I said its been IN game since EA.

You really need to do both though, at roughly the same time. Reduce jar damage AND make layering impossible. Because if it takes 60 jars to blow up one fence foundation, and you could still stack foundations… it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what people would end up doing.

I’d uh, prefer it if nothing in the game I play in my precious spare time is annoyingly tedious, thanks

Duplication glitches were around in EA too, that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be patched out.
and that is all this really is, an exploit being patched out.

No matter how popular an exploit it became, it’s still an exploit.

We should have a working means of off line raid protection that doesn’t involve using build tricks and exploits.

Trafe? See a real econmy.

And no offense, but you basically are a pvec player who abuses the mechanic of easy farm rates. No different than current alpha strategy, hoard 1000s of dp and use it to avoid pvp.

Hey you signed up for that by playing a survival game…might as well called it SIMS work.

Don’t touch the construction system, it works well, there is exaggeration of course, as in everything, there are many ways to break a base, you have bombs, you have arrows, you have trebuchet, gods and just in case people don’t know connect the leave time. there is no base whose walls do not fall if they do not defend it.

I try not to think about that…

Yea. Gods have always been the counter to fence stacking. God’s can walk straight through User made structures.

True, but the counter to gods is a bubble, and the counter to a bubble is to destroy the temple, the counter to having your temple blown up was fence stacking, which should be countered with the god, but it takes so little time to farm up a bubble that you can have one practically 24/7 and the god can’t get close enough to do anything, so fence stacking became the thing to do.

Takes less time to farm 1000 bombs than to farm a bubble. So in that case, you just bomb in the fence stacks…

No. This is not good design at all. In my personal and professional opinion: games should require effort, but shouldn’t be treated like work. If it take more than 3-4 hours a day to play a game reasonably the design of the game needs to be examined.

Both of these are spot on.

agreed. Which is why gods aren’t the counter to fence stacking, bombs are. However, there is no counter to bombs, and is why everyone (myself included) says that bombs are OP AF

While I agree, the one counter to bombs is: being online and fighting, but yea. Offlining is the current meta and always will be until FC does something. I for one would like to go on record as saying that I would support a 30 min DBD enabled scenario on officials. Also… for solo players fighting is often not even an option, because unless the people you are fighting are absolutely terrible a 4 v 1 almost never goes in the favor of a solo.

I am glad to see more and more want to at least see what this DbD has to offer. And I believe more and more players would trek back to game that left due to burnout. Esp those that never tried Siptah and some of the newer content.

You think fence stacking causes lag, wrong, fence stacking saves your servers from the elite players building the most massive lagg intensive base youve seen. But hey, you want supermassive giant pvp bases, you got it guys.

You wont take our layers from us, we will still be behind 80 layers any way you want it done. In a small area? Or massive giant walls and many thousands of foundation blocks everywhere!

And it’s that attitude that caused this whole drama in the first place.

CLEARLY Funcom doesn’t want people to PvP that way. It’s not what they intended or envisioned. I think that’s one thing that we can safely say in all this.

So you can keep trying I guess, but why? The writing is on the wall.

And you will get admin wiped every time for sprawling it out that way. One thing I know about alpha groups that build the sprawl…they don’t like loosing so after about 2 or 3 admin wipes, you will either change or rage quit.

No, fence stacking causes server and client CRASHES. And that’s why they are getting fierce on banning people for it.
