Are you serious Funcom? You’re just making it easier for hackers with this event log change. Absolute joke.
I’m at work so can’t see ![]()
its simple event no more say you who kill your thrall or blow your stuffs, it’s just say another player, that their view of pvp setting…
it’s one of the biggest error they ever did with this change… that a game killer for real, and who asked for that ?
it shows again that funcom dont play its game, as they just killed all the war system (this guy attacked me, so a war is opening) on pvp server and yes make it even easier for cheaters…
please revert back to the event log as it was for pvp server. and work more on the fact to have event log saying you who loot your locked chest without blowing it .
i hope all the last pvp players on official that have to deal daily with hacker will voice loudly what they think about this change of event log on pvp servers
This just goes to show how completely out of touch the dev team is with their game. You have hackers ripping knowledge and vacuuming loot near daily across every PvP server. Legit players being mass report botted and autobanned near daily. People meshing, making mesh bases and sky bases.
They should feel ashamed of theirselves.
So it doesn’t designate the exact player that stole destroyed or stole your stuff?
If so, good. It may get me back in PVP because that meta knowledge drop was crap. It should be vague because you shouldn’t know immediately who did what to you. This invites less trust and creates a better socio-mental game. Someone could create utter chaos with one raid that makes the server allies all fight each other.
I’m failing to see the down side in this at all and don’t give me any crap about honor. A game that exists in a perpetual state of offline raiding doesn’t have a honor standard.
This helps out people who mesh into bases or vacuums a base out with not getting reported. It’s a bad thing.
yes its a game killer, it will now only say 'by another player" and i m curious about the name of the one that decided to implement that in the game ? because honestly he desserves a special mention to 'i want to give a final blow to the pvp game and be sure all players quit"
I’m a root cause type of guy. I would much rather have them plug the holes of cheaters that get plagued into manual enforcement that they may or may not have time to take appropriate action on.
If anything, they should just implement a log system outside of our reach that they can review and determine these bad seeds. All you would need is a date and time and they would review the logs to see if it makes sense or if their is cheating going on.
@azaroth I asked for this anonymity years ago to help out the small clan and solos get a leg up on the established clans and stir up the status quo. To add subterfuge to the game. The things that made people quit are still there…body vaulting, cheating, off lining, zerg clans…this won’t help or hurt the list but it will add spice and that is something great. It encourages people to take more risks. The only thing it detriments is immediately knowing who to seek revenge on. I’m good with that.
i dont know on which server you play but again on pvp server 70 Per cent of players are defensive one, which means they dont attack if not attacked first. this is what allow to have a deep game, with diplomacy, strategy and alliance and not totally empty server.
this change means, you will help cheaters for sure, and that gameplay on pvp will become totally impossible, because in this state it means you have to kill any players that join a server, to be the only one on it, which will remove all the social gameplay of pvp server and interest (and which is obviously the vision of someone who don’t play on pvp servers) , only sadic players, which means 5% of actual players of pvp. and the term that i choosed in sentence before, also apply to the dev that took this decision. who is probably the same one that did lightning storm that were blowing any t3 building in few seconds at release of sorcery.
this is a pure game killer, especially in a game so unbalanced in matter of offline raid, and defence/attack and you don’t do this kind of experimentation in a game 8 years old on which the actual problem on pvp server is hacker everywhere.
I’m on a break from the game.
But when I played I was exactly like azaroth described.
Defensive I only raided if someone raided me first.
I only fought if attacked.
To me the game was about reciprocation.
The part I liked was going after those who wronged me.
If I can’t see who raided me or killed my thralls by looking at the event log, It might be time to uninstall.
I don’t have the opportunity to check this right now, but I really hope it’s a misunderstanding. If the name of the player who attacked you is no longer listed in the logs, then… I see a lot of problems that FC could solve with this:
-
The problem of offline hackers killing 60+ thralls in 60 seconds and clearing 60 chests in another 60 seconds, leaving you in 2 minutes with an empty, yet fully intact base, you’ve been filling up for half a year. Previously, such a log was enough for a report and (theoretically) a ban, because it is physically impossible to do without cheats. But now… About whom should you report? About “another player”? And if there’s no report, then nothing needs to be done from FC side. Problem solved.
-
The problem of getting money from PVP servers through the bazaar. Previously, even there, you could build cool, decorative buildings to express your creativity. This increased demand for the bazaar. I know because I am one of those players who repeatedly bought coins in max packs because “I had an idea”. And every jerk who loved to blow up everything just for lolz knew why they woke up in the desert. So now, there is no need to build anything than a box, let alone decorate it. Which means there is no need to buy anything at the bazaar. The problem of excess money for FC is solved.
-
The problem of many low-population PVP servers. Now, every player has the joy of building a tiny box base and sitting in there during 6 raid hours. Every day. That’s so cool! Obviously, everyone can afford to play 6 hours а day. And low poplated servers? Oh, that’s where all the losers play, for an hour or two a day, ha ha. And not even every day, can you believe it? Before, logs allowed them to know who was mess with them. Now anyone can raid them offline without any risk of retaliation. Get lost from this game, weaklings! So FC can finally close all these sparsely populated servers and breath free. Problem solved.
Oh people, this literally has no impact on cheat reporting. The event log does not prove someone cheated. SCREENSHOTS prove they did. Get a grip and calm down.
it is, and it was explained several time, you think that when all your thralls are killed in few seconds by one player it do not show the use of a speehack ?
someone that loot you something in a closed base is not using a cheat to do it ? because if you don’t know it, there is differents level of hack/cheat softwere, and the cheap one they still appear in event log when a cheater go trough a wall using lag switch to take your bench. so it allow to detect cheaters on servers and aim for them.
but may be are you one of them happy to now be totally undetectable by the help of funcom.
I am really upset aobut this event log change not showing who attacked me, my thrals and my structures. This event log change is killing the game for me.
lalalaland conan of someone who have apparently no idea of the gameplay on pvp server and offer a total protection to all cheaters, gg funcom
but now on a pvp server we can follow all actions of our followers, great that really what we needed…
I’m not too happy about this change either. Have played on a few private servers which had the log set this way and you end up leaving after a few days because you don’t know who your enemies are. This change should be known as toxic update 2.0.
Here is a thought on why they did it.. If you don’t know who the offending party is, you cannot report them. If you cannot report them, FC support has less incoming tickets to close.
You are unable also to see who within the clan has dismantled parts of the build.
Ummm that supports keeping it anonymous. If these players didn’t get documented as the raiding clan, then suddenly it’s chaos as everyone is accusing each other and drama ensues which leads to epic stories of betrayal. The best PVP experience I had was due to this type of betrayal and my clan was the one fooled.
The current state of PVP on the servers I see active on PS5 is one or two clans that 3 day refresh and monthly scout to destroy anyone built on “their server” unless they have the log dictate who should get focused on during their time so it’s not like a large loss for officials on PS5.
