New hunger system for Thralls and Pets

Greetings!
I was reporting a “bug” just to find out there is no bug.
I’ve read that last March there was a new version where Thralls and Pets won’t need to be fed, and it just got to us on PS4.
Need help with a couple of questions:

  • Will any food or an specific one give buff for thralls?
  • Will pets get buffs? If so, which one?
  • Can I remove feeding boxes for pets or they need to stay for any reason?
  • Will I be able to leave food at Thrall pots just to prevent them from decaying or will the Thralls eat them?

Thanks in advance, good hunting!

Well, I can tell you this:

  • before anniversary update of yesterday (the hunger system was removed few days before it in a bugfixing patch) I was still able to grant the buff bonus to my thrall giving him Grilled Steak.
I’ll edit when I’ll try it after the anniversary update.

  • in theory you can remove feeding boxes… but just in case they’ll change their minds about hunger system (or not, but I don’t think they’ll let useless feeding pots just for roleplay) I suggest, if you already have, to let them where they are, just my 2 cents

Pet/Thrall favorite food gransts 25% damage boost for 1 hour. Non-favorite food its 10% for 1 hour.

Before the anniversary update I did a brief official PvE server live game test and thralls+pets were taking one item of food from thrall pots/feedbox every 9-10 minutes… can you confirm through what you see in the dev kit if this timing is still the same …
because it seems rather strange that the 10% or 25% buff lasts for one hour but they take a food item every 9-10 minutes…

Haven’t figured out/really looked that hard to determine the logic on how Thralls/pets determine when to take the next food item. Only looked into the buffs. I’ll try and remember to take a peak to see if I can figure it out when I have some down time.
