New maps / new game modes

Hi all,

I was wondering if I am the only one, but I wanna know if a possible game mode could be a more MMO / Progress based map?

I enjoy the combat & fighting players but for me raiding is starting to take a toll on me, I do find myself casually dueling on several private servers.

in general I think the maps that currently made is fine but a new map could be great! But mainly thinking if a new map is to much for a beginning as an idea hasnt fully formed, I think Game Modes could be a more intreasting start

There are several other maps. Savage Wilds if my fav.
Ya just have to know where to find them.
Start by going to the master list of servers and hit the map button.

I am aware of mods.

I just want somthing that makes people who are not into mods have the option

to add; I think alot of people are happy if they dont have to download all kinds of extra just to play
Mods are a nice addition to the game, but overral I think its also healthier if more options are available from start for new players

Some of the updates come from mods.
It brings emersion to the game that is missing by vanilla.

So far the other map is Siptah. We dont even play it.
On a multi-map modded system, we can jump to Siptah, get what we want, and jump back to one of several maps to play on.

The Modders do what FUncom is too lazy to do.

Do you realize the hypocrisy of what you are saying there right? If Funcom were to release a new map, you would have to download EXTRA in order to play on it. Hell, every time they release and update you have to download EXTRA in order to play. So by playing with mods all you do is allow the game itself to download the mods for you. All you need to do is click on the server, the game does all of the work for you. You are doing no EXTRA work than you would by downloading an update from Funcom.

Now if you were to argue that you were on a console and did not have access to mods, you would have a valid argument. Or if you simply said you would prefer to play the game “as intended”, though to be honest the devs intended the game to be modded from day one (even in early access). But the argument of having to download extra… yeah that’s a bit of a stretch to say the least.

Actually, that not true at all. But having so many different maps available on official servers you would be taking the official server player base and spreading it even thinner than it already is and that would be the polar opposite of healthier. It would make the players first impression that the game is extremely dead, because the players would be spread not just over the current 3 play styles and 2 maps (not that Isle of Siptah is overly populated), but even MORE maps (and potential play styles as you suggested in the title). So in all, you would be looking at servers with what, 4-5 players active at most? It would turn new players off before they even got established.

I dont think i agree with ur take but it is somthing to consider.

I think u by now only calculate the current player base. which ur scenario would be true.

from what I suggest these servers or similar prolly already exists with heavy modding. The reason i suggest a non-mod approach by for instance making diffrent or same maps by just changing the game mode.
is so that once announced by Funcom it might pick up an eye or two instead for a new player will have to READ and Look-into mods.

I think its a simple idea that can pick up new players.

I think then instead of looking at the idea of what they made with Siptah its a learning curve of what can be done on a new map.

maybe a change of game mode could be a wise idea, if the map dont work is maybe because it tries to sell the same idea of Exiled Lands but in a worse version of it.

Totally agree!

I wouldn’t call Funcom lazy for not linking the maps.

Has more to do with $$$ if you ask me.

If the maps are all linked, it would stop players from playing as much. You would see less players. There would be no need to start over on a new map, which in turn would reduce people spending $$$.

It’s not laziness, if anything it’s keeping the game from dying.

I for 1 am glad that they don’t link the maps.
