Good Morning all. I’m new here in the world of age of conan. I started on the Saga of blood ‘server’ but did not know that it would only take a while. For me, the game is very interesting and would like to explore the whole world of conan, but I ask myself the question on which server I should start now, where is the most going on? Unfortunately there is no server role server, I wonder if this is even here? I myself come from Germany and would prefer a German community and look forward to all your answers.
Crom is the way to go. You’ll see most of Conan community there. And you’ll find many German players and Guilds, for example Altvorderen Sturmklinge, Ronin ( i think it is a DE guild), and many others.
Saga of Blood is temporary but your character will not be deleted or anything like that, after the server event is done your character will be transferred to the PvP server Fury so you could continue to explore the game on that server with your character.
Sadly, this server (Fury) is really empty and I doubt that the new income of characters / players will change that, most PvE stuff is happening on Crom where you can find all kinds of guilds from RP guilds (mainly international, english speaking ones) to casual guilds and hardcore endgame raiding guilds.
Crom still got a good amount of german players as well as guilds who actively raid the highest raid tiers (and probably every other tier as well), though I am not up to date about what the guild names are, which the biggest guild is and so on since I rarely interact with the german community even though I am german myself. Still, most or all of these guilds take new players to teach them the game.
I guess @Kantakwa will be able to tell you a lot more about the german community and their guilds.
Thank you for the answers. I did not know that the Saga of blood character later transferred over. In previous mmorpgs I have always addressed the pvp. Is it still possible to operate on the crom server pvp? I’ve been playing on crom for a few hours today and am still in tortage looking forward to what awaits me. Since unfortunately my name Ranash was already taken, I had to call myself rahnash so if somebody would like to contact me he can do that via the name.
Yes there is PvP on Crom too, but it’s almost exclusively at level 80, low level PvP is pretty much dead.
On Crom you have: the 5 minigames (team fights like capture the flag etc.), the arena in Field of the Dead for duels and the 3 Border Kingdoms which are the only zones for open world PvP on the server (that happens once every month when the Pvp festival takes place in these zones for one week). And the funny thing is that there’s actually more PvP activity on Crom than on Fury, simply because there are more people playing on Crom.
And welcome to the game!
Accept for open world pvp and duels, which is non existing on crom (maybe only during pvp event). So depends on what kind of pvp you are looking for. For me it’s the reason why I’m still playing on fury only.
Come to Fury Ranash!
We need ya
The skinny of crom pvp is that during the 3 weeks when the pvp festival is off, the only pvp you get is minigames and arena duels if you’re lucky. It’s quite boring i assure you.
Yeah, I dont know why but seems people on crom dont want to duel like we do on fury a lot in the pvp areas.
maybe I play from time to time my saga character that is playable in the future on fury. By the way, how does the assasine play in the pvp?
This is my opinion, the game has a really good PvE system, the problem is that you need a group otherwise you cannot do anything. Levelling to 80 is fun, the PvP system is a disaster.
Once you are level 80 you have to level the AA skills, it takes time and you need a group for that.
There is a guild that is german so you should not find a problem.
The real problem in this game is that is at end game, therefore many raids nobody does them anymore. As new player this could be a problem. However FC sells premade level 80 toons with items.
I advice you to level to 80 by yourself, because it is just fun, but be aware of this, if you are a tank you wont be able to tank, if you are a DPS you wont be able to hit, if you are a priest you wont be able to heal.
You need items, FC gives T3 items but there are in game T6 items. There are anyway some raids that will allow you to get the T3 items but they are hard to find.
Do not join Fury because the server is almost dead, do join Crom. Fury is a PvP server but there is more PvP on Crom at this moment.
The toon from saga will be transferred to Fury, to change server it cost 600 points, it is not a big cost at all. Regards,
A nice guild to join is wikinger / Vikings. They are German speaking and many nice and helpful people in it. ( no, I am not from wikinger, I am vendetta, international guild ). They are on saga, crom and fury. There is no need to rush to end game. Just play the game as you want.
My preferred server is fury as I said before. Dont expect pve raids there, but pvp is much more prevalent. Open world pvp still is best in the game. But that’s my opinion.
I have room for you in the guild if you come to Fury, Ranash
After now about 1 week Age of Conan, I have to say that I still have a lot of fun in the game. My Barbarian is now 25 and has left Tortage. I always play 1-2 hours in the evening and enjoy it through the Conall Valley to quest. In general, I wonder why the game gets too little attention, far from this comic graphic, that’s what appeals to me.
I finally bought an equipment box where an armor was inside (until lvl 20). But that will be the only one. Now I ask myself the question if it makes sense to have a subscription status. (Membership) aside from the EP bonus, what else is in it for me? Do I have fewer dungeons without membership? I myself think that makes sense only in the endgame. ?
Subscription will help you can EXP and AA’s faster. It will remove the 10 gold cap (Not real important until level 80). It will also allow you to access Global along with NPH chat. If you bought something from the cash shop, you should also get access to Global chat.
As to when/if to sub; it is an individual choice. It all depends on how fast you want to get to level 80 and what you plan to do once you are 80.
If you subscribe you will also gain additional relics from raids but again - this is more something for level 80 so there is no real use for that before level 80 (since there are no relics on lower levels).
Subscribed people also gain 1 Expertise Point per normal level, these points are for the AA tree that got it’s main use on level 80. Having 79 Expertise points is nice to have but it’s far from “justifying” a subscription, you can easily gain many AA points without ever being subscribed (again, mainly on level 80).
Some dungeons may require expansions that you need to buy in the item shop but you can access the expansion areas without subscription once you bought them. So, if you don’t really care about being a little bit slower in terms of AA EXP and raid relic gain you don’t actually need a subscription, especially because most raid armor items don’t cost more than 10 gold (only in T6 but that’s the highest tier in the game right now).
Which guild is this?
Are you on Saga now Ranash?
Did you manage to join a guild yet?
No, I play on crom
