I prefer to make my own “culture” since in game I’m brought from somewhere that’s not here.
So I mix and match to suit my own tastes.
That means basically, I don’t spend money on things I have no need of.
To be entirely fair, Cluck the Dungeon set.
The Turanian expansion needed more polish and should have had a couple more pieces but this one likes the direction.
The Stormglass Cathedral gets a chef’s kiss.
Sandstone expansion was like Turanian, in that it was missing too many pieces, but unlike Turanian, it only barely touched on new ideas.
One can say cluck the Dungeon set and still want it other sets that aren’t… whatever that is.
Let’s do a little exercise:
- Customer says, “Screw these prices, I’m not buying anything.”
- Seller offers something at a more reasonable price.
- Customer looks at the offering, thinks the price is reasonable.
What should the customer do?
If your objections to the Bazaar are based on prices, then why shouldn’t you buy whatever you think is reasonably priced?
On the other hand, if your main and most important objection to the Bazaar is that it uses FOMO tactics, or something else that isn’t price-related, then I can see why you would want to stay true to those principles.
I bought Stormglass, Sandstone, and Turanian, because they seemed reasonably priced to me. I also bought Lost Dungeon, even though it was a bit steeper, because it looked like the value for price would be reasonable. That was a mistake, but I had no way of knowing it beforehand. Lesson learned? Even if a pack is reasonably priced, don’t buy it until someone else showcases it for you. ![]()
I know I’ll get some flak, but I’ve been using the lost dungeon set like crazy.
It should have more pieces, I agree, but the pieces it has are cubes on purpose and for a good reason. I payed 800 cc for it, I think. It was much cheaper than the others, or am I mistaken?
No flak should be given.
You are allowed to enjoy your purchases.
This one is always glad when someone doesn’t have buyers remorse.
As for price, the issue is price/piece.
As a set, it is cheap. But as a set, it has few pieces and because they are all blocks, they can be used in only very specific ways.
For example, a wall can be used as part of a square or circular (ish) build. They can also be used as narrow interior room dividers. As a block, there are significantly fewer options, all right angles and if interior, the build balloons quickly.
That the pieces cannot be supported by pillars is another issue limiting utility.
So it’s not just price, but also number and diversity of pieces. It also leans into utility.
The same way Turanian Tents lose utility for not having inverted wedge and rooftop pieces. But written much larger because all cubes, so both limited utility and especially limited diversity of pieces.
It’s “cheaper” in the sense that the price for the whole set is lower than the price for any other building set.
However, when you account for how many pieces each set has, Lost Dungeon is the most expensive building set sold in the Bazaar. At 800 cc for 7 pieces, it comes at more than 100 cc per piece. For comparison, Stormglass Sanctum was 1200 cc for 21 pieces, which comes out to a little less than 60 cc per piece.
Why should I buy few overpriced foundations when I can get such high quality mod. Sand and Stone is awesome
You won’t find any disagreement here.
You see… I already said above that the set is very situational. I even posted two examples where I think it works, earlier in the thread, maybe to inspire players who feel they just squandered their money. It’s not a total loss. There’s some uses that can be found.
That said, I completely agree that this set is very incomplete. And I’m still waiting for wedges and wedged ceillings for the sandstone set! ![]()
Edit: it wasn’t above that I gave said examples, but on a similar topic. ![]()
Right you are. It’s a rip off! ![]()
I know what happened. As those pieces are all massive cubes, they decided to charge us by their weight. They’re heavier, so we pay more for each. Like grain and stuff. ![]()
They really need to add the “
” reaction to the forums ![]()
That’s absolutely up to you to decide. Me, I don’t use any building mods because I’m afraid of losing stuff if a mod stops working for some reason or I need to turn mods off for troubleshooting etc. Paid content is going to be there for as long as the game exists - although I am admittedly grumpy about paid content being unavailable whenever connection to Funcom Live Services fails.
I want finaly that the cimmerians get more love its conans clan and they not recieved a singel thing in the 5 years of conan . They removed even the black fur on the medium cimmerian armore
I’d totally be down for amazon, primitive stuff.
I like nordic, but would actually love to see more Cimmerian, Lemmurian or even Darfari.
Never been a fan of Turanian and Stygian, allthough Tur building floors are great looking.
EXACTLY.
We have not had Stygian building sets, only some individual items and armors. This is something Im really looking forward to finally acquire.
yeah right black kingdom , amazons , savages …
there are about 50 variations of wizard/cannibal/druid etc armour in the game
I understand that it’s primarily a fantasy game, but I’d still like to see normal, more realistic armor in the game as well, and let the players decide what they want to use.
There are only 3 types of plate armor in the game and one of them (godbraker) is literally epically ugly so that leaves two - Champion/Silent legion and Poitain (DLC btw) …really epic selection for a warrior …
chainmail ? also only two …cimmerian and medium silent legion …maybe even Khari for stygians
But of course chainmail bikini sells more.
Slave forged heavy. You forgot that one. ![]()
Yeah, thanks for the reminder.
So 4 plate armor for warriors (vs 50 for wizard/druid/cannibal etc ) , and TWO of them are epically ugly
And they are utterly useless outside pve, @Keldy .
Even on pve you’ll see me wearing light a lot of times because they simply don’t provide enough protection when compared to what higher mobility gets you.
so bad balancing is an excuse for not to make (real) heavy armor ?
And yes I play 100% only PVE , PVP part of the game doesn’t interest me and what I think about it I can’t write here as I don’t want to get banned
For me personally Poitain Heavy was love at first sight
, but I still hope that since we have Age of War here, they could add more armor for the real warriors
