Not a bug per se, but I do have a suggestion to prevent major lag on populated servers

Hello, I may have a suggestion and I believe it would greatly help prevent the lag on populated servers…

Since the New Age Of Sorcery update, the lags are getting terrible on the server that I’m on. Is it due to it’s popularity and too many people joined ? Maybe. Maybe not, I don’t know… But I had an idea that might help reduce greatly lag.

A lot of people, a lot of player generated content. Items, building pieces… When I teleport, kill myself or just load in the game, the server has to send me tons of information concerning what’s all around me… including the CONTENT OF EVERY CONTAINER AROUND ME ! Now THAT might be a bit, I dunno, unnecessary ?

This is my idea. Either a server wide option, or a player option ( or both ) that would prevent me from getting a preview of what’s inside a container before opening it ? that way, the server wouldn’t be sending thousands of unnecessary information therefor reducing greatly the lag generated by such an exercise ?

I apologize if this post isn’t in the right section, please move it at your convenience. Hoping to hear from you.

Oh, and congratulation on a very highly addictive game. Thank you for those over 2000 hours of gameplay I had

I’m new to these forums, I’m more in facebook … wonder if there’s a way to " tag " them to get their attention ? ( tried, but new users can’t tag other people… oups lolll )

Agreed, plus they could implement some mechanics to not render objects inside buldings or at least decrease the render distance for those that not own them. So a playser passing by should not have to render everything inside a base. And for the owner use cache so a people inside their base would not to be recieveing informations from the server everytime he looks around. Dont know if it is possible technically, but this is a thing i would consider if i was a dev. (i was, not for games)

Not really, ‘their’ attention depends on the topic and what interest it gathers (if any), abusing tagging to call specific people will not do you any favors.
