I’m on 1731 and it’s being deleted, meaning I’m about to lose a large amount of work, so I checked both servers rankings to see what the destination server’s stats look like. I wasn’t impressed with what I found.
1731 is ranked around 200 (204-ish right now) and 1734, the destination server, is in the 355 range. Neither are all that busy but 1731 definitely has a lot more traffic. For some reason 1731 is being merged into 1734 and not the other way around. Funcom - I think you need to go over your list again and make sure you aren’t cutting the more populated servers. Measure twice, cut once.
Honestly you really shouldn’t be deleting buildings unless there’s no other way, you should be making sure everything we’ve built stays intact during the transfers. It’s more work but it’s absolutely possible and would show that you actually care about your players, your customers, and the time they’ve put into collecting resources, items, and creating buildings. All the servers know where all buildings are, that data exists already, and it wouldn’t take a team of good programmers very long to come up with a way to poll destination servers to see if buildings exist at the target locations or not, and to figure out how to transfer buildings.
