Offline Mode - 2024

Hi all,

Apologies for bringing up a topic that has been done to death but i’m getting some conflicting information and would like clarification. I’ve been reading both on the Funcom and Steam forums that the game does allow play offline (that is, without an internet connection) provided that:

  1. Steam is in offline mode.
  2. You have launched the game with internet at least once.
  3. You have a valid “CachedUsers” entry under “[FuncomLiveServices]” in your “Game.ini” file.

I can confirm that I have met all three of the above requirements in testing but that I cannot continue a single-player game only if I do not have internet access. The only error returned is “Failed to login! Please try again later”. I have tested this on two different PCs, one running Windows 10 and one running Windows 11, both have the same issue.

Is it safe to assume that the above offline method was removed in a recent patch?

Please disregard the above, I found out the flaw in my testing (as I’m on spotty internet where I am I like to be able to make sure a game works offline). To simulate internet loss I was disabling my network adapters which appears to cause the above error. If I simulate internet loss by leaving the adapters enabled but disabling my internet connection at the router level, I’m able to play offline as long as I meet the three criteria above.

If Funcom devs do read the forum I would like to request that a true offline mode be re-added at some point! But for now, this topic can be closed as resolved.
