Sometimes life just happens or a friend comes over and it will take you FORTY FIVE minutes to run back to base. Can we get just a ONCE a day teleport home device? This is so if your friend comes over he doesnt have to sit there and wait 45 minutes for you to get back to base before you can go out.
Maybe even a 1 time use item but I rather see it be permanent but only usable once a day.
Maprooms take you TO a place. a hearthstone would take you HOME. Or maybe some way to insure your gear for 1 escapade so if you die the loot goes back to the magical chest? Then you can just die on purpose when ur friend comes over or someone calls you and you suddenly have to leave the house and lose your gear you spend 5 hours working on.
Make it so you have to be on unclaimed land and out of combat for 3 minutes to hearthstone back? So players could still chase you down. If would have been hidden for 3 minutes u probably would have gotten away from the player chasing you anways.
I understand, but your are stating you want to be line it because of something in RL. So stopping to explore and/or fight is on you at that point. Yes, there are certain areas, mainly mountain ridges, that if not known can detour you pretty bad. But 90% of the map is literally straight line sprinting, and you just out run aggro NPC’s towards your bed roll/bed marker.
I dunno i think if you already got away on unclaimed land and out of combat for 3 minutes you would have gotten away anyways. Just make it so you cant hearthstone over-encumbered.
You are being absurd if you got away for 3 minutes then you already got away and they are not gonna catch u as this game has no mounts so there is no way to catch up to the looter. If you could only hearthstone on unclaimed land out of combat for 3 minutes then its exactly the same as disapearing into the woods and they never found you.
If you dont find whoever looted your base in 3 minutes you were never going to find them anyways. And as long as you cant teleport when encumbered then it adds zero extra griefing.
So basically you are lying.
And if you are scared of PvP then dont play on a PvP server.
the suggestion has merit, but in reality, creating a game mechanic for a very rare occasion is counter productive. If everyone was having an issue travaersing land, then yes, something like this makes sense. I always use the logic of is what ever it is i am doing and something happens, was it a one off (something occurring that I notice it every time.) Lag for me happens, and at such a low rate, that i do notice it. sputtering happens more frequently, and doesn’t really hamper what i am doing, so i don;t notice it. That make sense.
Alternatively, build small outposts dotted about the place. Just a single room, no windows, throw in some chests, a brazier and a bed. Job done, safe save points anywhere on the map.
Let’s face it, virtually everyone has Wheels of Pain near thrall hotspots, not impossible to incorporate a safe room with them.
It isn’t that Conan hates magic. It’s just not every fantasy world is a high magic world where you get enchanted gear scattered around all over the place.
