OPINION: Zingaran Saddle

Funcom, with all due respect, I believe the Zingaran saddle in the Battle Pass could’ve been so nice, the pattern is beautiful. But I really feel that the face place with the bull horns and the padding down the neck is an overkill and makes it look a bit childish.

Sometimes, less is better.

I can see it looking menacing with the undead horse

Another question is why did Funcom stop making saddles with reins? Seriously, like only 15% of the saddles have reins? How do we steer our horses without reins? They have bits in their mouths, tell me why they need bits if they have no reins… SMH :man_facepalming:

This is something I’d wish Funcom armor designers remembered more often.

So they won’t bite their tongue when falling off cliffs?

Devils advocate here, many war horses in days gone by were trained to respond to knee pressure from the rider, allowing the riders hands to be free to handle weapons such as bows and swords or axes, etc. But if the art work shows a bridle and bit, missing reins are definitely an oversight.

I dont mind the horns, the neck pieces could have been better designed to reflect more of a layered scale pattern.

Thats true and todays horses are still trained to respond to the knee pressure of the rider. But reins were necessary in a battle, war horses were most of the time ridden with harsh lever bits for a reason, to hold them under control and to perform thight turns. I wish funcom would give them reins too. And give us a better horse model on top. They look so deformed, the lower neck, the always high head posture, these strange ancles… Jeah but the game has more important problems xD
