Other games would call it cheats

Here here! Also take away the HP’s from buildings as well.

Where did you find that post from @den
Because August '21 is sometime ago already.

Healthbars did be fine when it didnt be turned on. So only visible when a player took damage or is taking damage by the other player.

You are not allowed to hide in Exiles. Exiles must be noob friendly. Except players can edit the render range of healthbars to maximum render distance. 2000 meters or so? shocking.

In a purportedly PvP game, why would we be able to select that distance so easily? You can literally see through terrain, into caves like Sobek.

laughs yeah this was pretty bad, goodbye stealth! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

From what I can tell and what I’ve read, this seems to be a mistake ( at least I would hope so) with that in mind, hopefully they’ll get it sorted out soon.

as the healthbar is a a toggle switch on a server i don’t see why they don’t just flip it to off for pvp servers which it seems is the biggest issue with the healthbar and i fully understand why. i don’t play pvp it’s not my thing here… but i can see how being able to tell where your enemy is can easily tell you when they will hit you as well… there’s no “oh (whatever explicit term you wish to use)” moments there’s no im gonna slip in and out and see what i can get… it just leaves little to the small clans who need that extra bit of stealth… it’s almost as bad as being able to know from the event log exactly who stole your sweetroll from the box you forgot to hide… while on pve servers seeing the healthbar doesn’t really effect gameplay… it can screw over pvp.

I have come to a realization only recently. I wrote a thread about it, and how to pick up Hatchlings.

Clearly, obviously, someone forcibly told Funcom that the PvE elements are too tough in this game. So they installed training wheels. If you turn off the health bars, the PvE elements that are “too tough” will no longer be so easy to unscramble. All this time I thought hatchlings were missing, when in reality they’re just too low to be seen without health bars.

The other thing is, with health bars I’m actually thralling again. Look for the cluster of gold bars and wooo doggies.

yeah that’s how the players on my server locate their thralls as well lol those gold bars it’s like christmas when you find a group of them anywhere lol

Don’t be deceived by the Gold Bars!
There are several Gold Humanoids who cannot be taken with the cudgel.
Likewise, there are a few skull health bar enemies who fit quite comfortably on the wheel.

There are numerous aspects to this game which are toggles in the admin panel that are left untouched in official servers for reasons I am still not sure of.
Honestly, I think it would as variety and spice to both PvP and PvE if the servers had different features. I know a much higher harvest amount and more frequent purges would create a different feel from completely disabled purges and low resource gathering. Changing respawn and thrall tame rates could also drastically impact play style.
Elder Things and Siege Elder Things in the Maelstrom on Siptah can determine whether a quarter of the map is buildable on a pragmatic level, or whether builds there basically require a permanent active garrison to protect that build even in PvE.

i would like to see a variation of servers myself. you could have the slow grindbase value pvp/pve serversfor those who enjoy that type of challenge, have something like the old blitz servers which would wipe every month or 2 which could provide a more competitiive style of play even over basic pvp, high gather servers, high xp servers… so many options… that it could add major differences and basically draws for different play styles

And there some that are named but not having the gold bar…

Killed so many named thralls because of that issue, takes ages sometimes before I see the name of the thrall, being a archer that is pretty darn annoying

i do feel the system needs a revisit. it’s def not up to par with other games that utilize health bars
