PC Patch (24.10.2019) - Optimizations, audio and other fixes

Greetings Exiles!

We’re releasing a new patch with fixes to many of the performance issues introduced in the latest patch. These should solve many of the low FPS and abnormally long load times you’ve been sending us feedback about.

We have also bulked up in cough syrup and distributed it to thralls and player characters to stop the pneumonia outbreak when they were idling, as well as fine-tuned the running stop animation.
Many of the issues regarding altered item stats (such as different temperature protections) should also be tackled in this patch, along with some other bugfixes.

Thank you for your continued support and for your invaluable feedback.

Please remember that updates can mess with your installed mods. We suggest taking a backup of your current database before updating to any new patch if you have mods installed.

Currently Known Issues

  • We’re aware of an issue with missing SFX for NPCs and player characters, particularly during combat situations. We’re working on that and it’ll be fixed in the next update.

notes
performance

  • Optimized some material and texture sizes to generally improve performance.
  • Optimized current assets to improve performance.
  • Fixed a number of crashes related to asset conflicts.
  • Optimized files by deleting outdated and invalid assets.
  • Additional file size optimizations to improve performance across the board.
  • Increased the amount of logs in case of blueprint Virtual Machine crashes.
  • Fixed incompatibility with upcoming Windows 10 20H1 update (currently Insider Preview).

exploits

  • Fixed an exploit regarding infinite stamina
  • Battle Standards can no longer be used to prevent players from placing objects around their base.
  • Fixed an exploit regarding undermeshing.

general

  • Fixed an issue where some equipment would grant you double the amount of attribute points.
  • Blood and Sand equipment had their temperature resistances swapped by mistake. This is now fixed.
  • Particles for the end-boss fight in the Wine-cellar should now work as intended.
  • Pit of Yog and Rift of Yog (and their placement brushes) can no longer be used to kill NPCs and players.
  • Fixed a couple of issues with the Debaucheries of Derketo DLC emotes.

animation

  • Tweaked the male stopping animation to make it much less extreme; it will no longer look like your character has a stomach-ache when movement ends.

audio

  • Distributed cough syrup in the Exiled lands, which effectively removed the groans and moans from idle animations.

Any fix for skeletons and frost giants not dropping loot?

That fix did not make it into this patch but will come in a future update.
Apologies for the frustration.

Understood, thanks for the reply.

Thank you. This is truly bigger one update. Hopefully this patch fixes problems with Relic Hunter Seekers and their hitting power, which was minor since the last update.

No more runner’s diarrhea!!

Thanks for the update. Mine is downloading 13.1GB, which seems bigger than the original patch.

Same here.

File size is unusually larger due to the asset and file optimizations.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

Does this update apply on PS4 too? I can’t login to any Asia servers for 2 hours now. I’m playing on PS4. If there’s an updated or server refresh please notify and how long will it take btw?

Thanks for the comprehensive update/patch - I do really wish FunCom would slip in little unannounced changes and adjustments here and there like a couple of spawn points, a band of thugs, a new mini-boss and loot, and perhaps a merchant or twenty - and not tell anyone, waiting for anyone to notice
(If I were in the FC Art Dept I certainly would!) lol

Viva! Gracias! Thanks

Open the cough syrup floodgates!

I always wanted to ask whether or not there will be a temperature resistance swap for the Pictish and Turanian armors? After all, both would make a tiny bit more sense if they protected from the opposite climate.

13.5 GB?!!! (extracting tongue from throat) lol

When will you release the next update?

Are the relic hunters fixed now on ps4?

13 GB for that ? Jeez you guys need to go back to studying programming. I have never seen a fix weight 13Gb my whole life… you are probably the first company to achieve this.

Y U do dis?! This was one of the only ways we PvE players had to cull thrall populations without building ridiculous towers (that might not do enough falling damage), or taking a trip to the volcano and hoping we could find lava that wasn’t already in someone else’s land claim. :sob:

Does this patch solve the issue with the Relic hunter tresure seekers converting into entertainers with no gear and 100 HP ?

Is it safe to collect a Relic Hunter thrall and put on good gear, Or will it revert and we lose everything again?

Thanks!
