Bow stance is different from melee combat stance. It seems that you can’t “Ready” a weapon. I can draw one-handed weapons, but I can’t go into a “ready” stance or swing them. I don’t think two-handers have a stance other than “ready” so they can’t be drawn at all.
Quick follow up question: Do everyone who experience this bug has server setting set to NOT drop items on death?

Mine’s a PVE-F, so that’s the default, yeah.
Seems that way so far.That is indeed the case for me.
PC version of Conan Exiles, client joining PvE dedicated server.
Mods were PREVIOUSLY installed for both client and server.
No mods are currently installed on either the server or the client.
Dedicated server has “drop items on death” turned OFF.
1 – Sledge of Tsotha-Ianti (2-handed warhammer)
2 – No upgrades
3 – PvE in camp east of Black Galleon
I am experiencing the same issue as the others, I cannot equip any combat weapon now (daggers, bow, the sledgehammer). I CAN equip a pickaxe or axe.
I knew that religious items cannot harvest corpses, but I tried using the tool anyway (tinkering with new content) prior to this happening.
NOTES:
1 – Issue persists between logins without restarting the client
2 – Issue persists between logins AFTER restarting the client (i.e., client reboot did not fix)
3 – Issue persists after a dedicated server restart (issue seems permanent now).
4 – While closing the game, I encountered the crash whose summary reads: “Exception 0x40000015 occurred at app location 0xe19e990f”. I could not post a screenshot as new accounts cannot post images.
I managed to fix it by placing a consumable (i used a bandage) in my hotbar.
I don’t know why it fixed it, but maybe a dev may have some ideas. ;D

Lets try something different. If your character is currently suffering from this bug, please do following.
- Share your game.db here or if you are on official server, share your server name.
- Share the name of your character so we could take possession of it for the test.
- Of course, a method to reliably reproduce the issue is sufficient as well.
I can tell you why TyphoeZ : With your bandage you glued back together your arms and your body.
Now you can use the equipped object

I have the exact same issue. The server I am currently playing on is a PVE server with items kept on death. Someone mentioned that as a recurring theme, and I have to concur.
Same as others have stated, I died during combat, and after that I am unable to equip any melee weapon. I can equip tools, but cannot swing them. I can equip a torch, but the Ctrl swing does not work, nor does kicking. All movement seems to be unaffected, as I can sprint/climb/dodge.
Also, I was using none of the same weapons these folks were. I was using either my Exceptional Steel Daggers, or Exceptional Stygian Spear, when I died.
Have you try TyphoeZ solution?
I haven’t had a chance, the server hasn’t patched yet, so our versions are out of date. I will repost if this fix works for me. Either way, it’s a serious bug, and I wanted to post about it

RP PVP server, No Drop on Death. Recently Braceleted to bed. Have mods on all equipment. Was crafting in base, left base, realized I can’t equip any main or off hand… after kicking my offhand started working again. Potions, etc, and now off hand all work.
For Main hand, can still build, but not equip wpn/tools.
Nothing fixes it I tried: Bracleting, Logging, Exiting Steam, Validated Steam Files for Conan, used hotkeys for bandages, aloe potions, food/drink, building, etc (hotkeys all work, just not for weapons or tools). I tried dancing/emotes and clicking a hotkey with a wpn/tool will cancel the animation, but not equip the item. Tried remapping key bindings. I placed and moved thralls.
EDIT: FIXED IT!!! (or found a work around) - I removed everything from my hotbar and character inventory (still wearing armour) and when I put ONLY the weapon back on my hotbar it worked. Now it just works.
Confirmed! This solution does work. I put my spear back on my hotbar and equipped it. Strangely this also made the ICON for my daggers appear on my hotbar, but they were still in the box I placed them in. So there is likely some sort of hotbar bug involved.

I don’t know if it helps but everytime a player on my server has the hotbar issue, he died and respawned on a bedroll.
Another time there was a server crash (the other known bug: crash through dying) right before the bedroll spawn.
And if i recall correctly every player died fighting (no fall damage, hunger etc)
Mine issue/glitch did NOT happen after dying. It happened after a bracelet removal.
Edit: Yes, I did spawn on my bed, like everyone on your server. So the teleportation (from death by killed or bracelet) seems to be related to this bug
Did you respawn on your bedroll or used one of the other options?
