PlayStation Update 2.4/2.4.6 Official Discussion Megathread

It reminds me of the original WoW backgrounds, which only rendered environmental outlines in the distance. You would see gray buildings in the distance until you got close enough to see the details.

This is how Patches Work on Consoles. They replace entire bins of files, instead of trying to replace/resort stuff.

According to Sony, This helps prevent Corrupted Data.

I’m an offline solo player on PS4 and after the patch, I’ve begun encountering far more instability than before :disappointed_relieved:

My modest home base (two small square rooms, couldn’t tell you the grid figures off the top of my head) has become a nightmare of broken textures, many of which simply never load in (especially in regards to mounted trophies) and those that do pop in promptly disappear, again, as soon as I turn my character around for a few moments. Stutters and micro-freezes continually happen inside said base. Accessing containers and work benches produces a pause even longer than before. Accessing the inventory provokes a long pause. Pausing the game produces a pause of around eight to ten seconds. Female physics are still broken. Credit where credit’s due, once the inventory and pause menu have been accessed initially, further uses didn’t seem to repeat the issue, as if the game was then remembering those basic functions and then had them ready to go in the future.

I’m not ordinarily one to gripe, but last night I actually experienced my first soft-lock around my base (game freezes up and no input from the player changes things, yet there’s no hard crash to Sony’s blue error report message) and that’s never happened, before. I actually turned off the game to play something else and that’s a huge shame because I love Exiles :disappointed_relieved: Just thought I’d toss in my two cents and add to the chorus that issues are happening.

EDIT - Oh, forgot to add in to the list that my character’s appearance/texture is constantly blurring itself up before eventually loading back in.

Funcom restore complete nudity please.

Essentially PS5 won’t recieve any device profiles. Does this mean making Conan Exiles 60fps on PS5 is not possible?

I have also experienced generally worse environmental graphics as other’s have mentioned. For me trees don’t probably load their graphical textures or colors right away appearing as brown lumps for a second before loading in. Other texture loading for chests and walls near my base are an issue. Stuttering has occurred with increased frequency when things load in. There have also been multiple instances where an npc is visible to me but invisible to clan mate at least for a time.

I’m generally very happy with the improvements and changes made to the game. But wanted to share these issues that I have seen.

I’ve dealt with multiple soft-locks at this point, necessitating a forced close of the game from the dashboard :disappointed_relieved: Every soft-lock has happened in or around my base. What is it about bases that’s causing this issue? I have a small base and it’s not as if I have a hundred plus Thralls or pets :disappointed_relieved: At this rate I don’t think I’ll even be playing Exiles until some stability has been returned. I’ve bought a new external hard drive and plan on shuffling things around so Exiles can be directly on the internal hard drive, maybe that’ll make a difference?

So after downloading your patch. Goodness you guys have made the game all but unplayable.

Simply running around the orginal map breaks the textures of the world around you.
Now on horseback it is 10x worse. While inside a base simply turning drops the textures of the base to next to nothing.

The new religion you are unable to learn bc the priest to talk to is mia. Yes you can spend the points and learn it. The Warmaker dungeon is broken unless you already have keys to open doors. The reoccurance of invisible creatures building pieces player owned and world pieces.

All these issues are on the orginal map.

I do like some of the changes being made and the direction of things are going.

Future patches I would like to see stability issues addressed and not keep old issues in the past.

Yeah, I guess retro-stabilazation (ol’ school flavor) is what we’ll call it (I see deer looking like chocolate pudding pops). I wish Funcom had enough funding to afford a ps4/5 or X-box one etc. I know testlive does the bugging n debunking but this never leads to any console relief.

Supposedly if not this patch (wasn’t), then next (we’ll see).

Hopefully next it fixes the exiled lands cause its worse now from what my players tell me

mounted combat changes = nerfing, charging with horse and a spear over the enemy now causes less effects (no effects any more) than doing it afoot. Next ā€œmounted combat changeā€ maybe turn it useless.

I used the yellow lotus potion to reset the attribute points, as I haven’t learned the bestial memory yet… and ended up losing some recipes I learned from the map… scrolls are gone…

I would like to know if the next update will be 2.4.6 directly or if first there will finally be the long-awaited hotfix for PS4? In any case, I would like to know the timing for the next update

2.4.6 is the next scheduled update for all platforms, which includes a number of bug fixes for each specific platform. Should be in the next week or two assuming we don’t run into any critical last-minute issues.

Next week also for console or only for PC?

Assuming we don’t run into any last-minute issues (like cert, etc.) then the update is planned to launch on all platforms at around the same time.
