lol TY, exactly the point I was hinting at. “Yes I would LIKE a hew map” however to be done RIGHT it would double if not triple the size of the game which would be a nightmare for players and modders alike. So just storage alone not including other logistics would render the argument of a new map a mute point. If in the extremely unlikely case we got a new map I would predict it to result in a dumpster fire that would make Siptah’s release look like a candle lit dinner.
In other words, you want a new game.
What can I say? - Want is not harmful.
This guy is not included as usual… nods head vigorously
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the vast majority of players prefer exiled lands. Speaks for itself.
I’ve been laughing at this GIF for like five minute straight! XD
Its one of my favorites, I wish I knew who made it.
I would accept a CE2 but i’m not about to indulge in false hope. My point was simple either a new map done right or no new map. Considering the chances of getting a new map done right would be next to impossible I’m ok with not getting one at all.
personally id love to see the sea areas of the map expanded upon, add in some islands with resources, add in ships, ballista, catapults, and treasure!
hells perhaps story wise could be us exiles vs the stygians as we attempt to hunt down all the wall pillers things to destory them and the stygian army an relic hunters attempt to stop us
and of cours rhtem blackhand folks just attmept to pillage everyone.
add in a ghostship and some more sunken ruin dungeons, would be a blast
Instead of a whole new map, do an age of Capitols.
Revamp every capital.
- Add gates and exterior fortress walls. the gates would be destructible spawns. to enter you would need explosives. The huts, evrything. Make it raiding instead of stroll and kill.
- Add an enemie. Thots armie. they would have spawns around those cities.
- Introduce a new decay where youbstaked your capitol and the area around would need upkeep.
- Use unnamed city as the capitol of thot. And change it up alot. Make it a true nightmare for the unprepared.
There are others, but that woukd re-energize the game.
oh that would be a cool idea!
take over a city, work on bolstering its defences and armorments, enjoy the perks of owner exclusive merchants an stuff perhaps
I am working on a mod like this…Although slowly lol.
ooooh neat! got a name in mind so I know what to look out for?
They could expand the map of exiled lands again. That’s something they have already done in the past. Who knows.
The upper right side of the map (east of the volcano/north of the jungle area) is blank.
Maybe they could add something there.
Sure. Which once again proves my point that a map all by itself is not the solution, because the map needs to have features and content people find interesting.
Siptah’s popularity is also affected by the fact that one needs to purchase it separately. That would apply to any new Funcom-released maps, too.
they need to work on the map-to-map transfer mechanism. the modded community slapped something together that works but it’s very rough.
maps should be associated with local ports and to connect to them would require an ip:port address which would connect, transfer character and contents, then release leaving the user on that ‘distant’ server. coming back would be similar but there should be some kind of ‘customs’ check behind the scenes that would insure the items coming back are within the expected guidelines as well as to insure against any duping efforts.
if done this way, there could be countless connections to different servers hosting all sorts of custom lands / dungeons / adventure areas… an ever changing adventure game.
Get rid of this and there wouldn’t be a problem.
Preface to my opinion is that I help admin a Discord for an official siptah PvE server. I am biased for which map I prefer.
Siptah for me is just way more challenging, then EL.
Siptah doesn’t have a built in transportation system, so you’re forced to explore. Explore and Survive.
Siptah has Double the in game mechanics than EL. EL has the Sandstorm and Dungeons. Siptah has the Maelstrom, Surges, Dungeons and the Pools.
Siptah’s recipes are difficult to get and require you to actually play the game. I love the fact that I have been on Siptah for 2 years and still don’t have all the recipes. EL’s recipes are all easy to find, there is nothing difficult about getting them. It’s boring.
For the longest time EL had a Purge Free area. Seriously, purge free? Talk about easy and not challenging.
For me if we’re to get a new map, I want something more in line with Siptah, than Exiled Lands.
by ‘contents’ i meant the players gear and bag… not the stuff they have in boxes. this would allow them to go in geared to conquer whatever they’re facing. the grab loot and come back.
The map can have all features in the world and it will still feel old and unexciting, because you’ve seen it so many times by now, that you feel like there is nothing to see anymore.
What would need to happen is a refresh of the map, in a much larger scale than just adjusting a few POIs to reflect the recent events. For example the concept of seasons is something I like a lot as it changes the environment over time, rotating these 4 “color themes” to keep the world at least looking different from time to time. Not saying it’s doable on EL as letting the desert freeze in winter sounds ridiculous, but you get the idea.
