I understand your concern, but It’s been 4 years and I doubt they will put much money into an old product. It’s time to accept the situation, this is like a toxic relationship, CE isn’t going to change.
IMO, If the game dies, it dies.

This has to be a troll, right? Like you can’t be serious. 3.0 is literally in development and they’ve said numerous times this will be a big year for CE and you think it’s the end of the road because it’s been not even 2 months since an update?
Listen here Jimbo, I am aware of 3.0, I just doubt they will put much money into an old game. It’s my opinion, maybe I’m black pilled about the state of the game, but that’s how I feel. I play on a PS4, so my opinion is based on that, not a lot of people are playing the game when I look at the server list. All I said it was to accept the situation, and if CE dies… it dies. If you think I’m a troll, well that’s your opinion, an inaccurate one. If you want to defend a faceless corporation left & right, at least get paid brother man, lets get you on that payroll.
Hasn’t stopped them yet. Besides, whenever they roll out a new dlc that pays for the next few updates. The situation isn’t as bleak as you think.
I don’t need a paycheck to say nice things about a game I genuinely enjoy. My opinions are my own and I’ll keep it that way
Since 1999 you mean. This isn’t limited to CE. There’s literally people who say EQ is dying and have been making posts like that for over twenty years.
Too bad it doesn’t cover the lease renewals for servers, mine is getting shut down.
Cool, you a free to have an opinion. Keep that in mind next time when someone shares theirs, instead of calling them a troll.
Thing is, the amount of money Funcom invests into Conan Exiles isn’t a matter of opinion. It’s a very concrete, well defined sum of money. Now, I can’t bother to sift through their publicly available financial statements to find out how much exactly, but whether we think they’re investing into it or not won’t change the facts.
You can have opinions on whether you like the game or not. You are entitled to have those opinions. But whether Funcom is still actively developing the game is not a matter of opinion.
This is all true Kapoteeni, but since when did little things like facts ever get in the way of people who are trying to push a narrative? Nope, just ignore everything and scream the same old nonsense as loudly as possible hoping to shut down all other voices until only yours remains and if you get any push back then fall back onto the persecution complex and claim that YOU are the one being silenced and shut down.
The game is barely 3 years old which still has much potential
I doubt they abandon the game at all…
They promised a huge update, lets just wait.
I think CE, in general, is not dying.
It may feel like it to some on certain platforms though. Experience xbox live recently?
Play the game on the console model t was originally released on. Completley broken since IoS. Combat is extremely laggy, npcs do not accept interrupts or staggers and walk through melee attacks made by the player and player thralls. It is almost impossible to fight more than 1 npc currently. They apply the aforementioned combat effects while being immune to any themselves. Near on impossible. Been like this for well over a year. Not to mention the texture loss, thralls dropping through mesh, character loss at transfer, unpredictable stability issues for build pieces, etc.
It only feels like its dying to some people.
Unfortunately too many feel like this, “Their experience differs from ours, lets discredit and dismiss them, even though CE is on multiple platforms, mine is the only one i consider when posting my opinion”.
Kbye
Yep! CE is dying and only forum users with zero development or design experience can save it! This is a well known accepted fact! ![]()
3 or 4 its still a pretty young game none the less ![]()
what if they would be super brittle? Like you can only hit with them 2-3 times. Then you get the outcome you wish but you loose the weapon.
Is anyone even using this? I havent seen this since 2018/2019. Its not very op since its a weak build, if you mess up youre dead. And can easily being countered by just making a tall character.
You would have to have the hotbar filled with weapons that disappear and can no longer be equipped. Replacing them during combat would be unwise. Single use weapon, empty slot. One application of status effect and then that slot is useless untill restocked, after combat.
CE is one of their most successful games, as they stated in the producers letter. They’ve already stated they have and are going to invest more into CE than before, starting with the 3.0 update which should be big (don’t wanna get my hopes up though, but I still do enjoy the game as is).
CE2 is probably not even on the table for them because there’s no point in making a new survival game when they are already making a new survival game with Dune, they’d be competing against themselves. So the best option is to pour in more support for their current game which is CE at least until that Dune game comes out more than likely.
Its probably also true that development in CE is informing game mechanics in Dune, so the continuing investments in CE may have additional dividends. Assuming for example that Dune has followers; getting thrall power right for CE would inform relative strength decisions for Dune and then a future nerf could be avoided.
If youd fill your hotbar with tose kind of weapons just to be removing buffs from 9 players at the time, youd be insane. I dont think that anyone would be that cray becouse obvious reasons. But i still think that you could spare one slot for them, just as you do with explosive jars, for example, or arrows of diffrent kind for your bow.
I’m not too familiar with Dune lore but I assume they would have some sort of follower system in that game as well as building and land claim, as from what I gather those are not only staples of survival games in general but also Dune is heavily clan based in it’s universe. But that game is probably a ways away so I wouldn’t doubt that any development on CE is getting looked at to see what improvements can be made in the Dune game.
