No, I’m not sadistic.
However, it would be cool if we could place captured npcs still unbroken on hold so that later we could use them for rituals.
We could knock them out, place them in the prision, so that later we could remove them (with bindings, for instance) and take them to the sacrificual stone or the wheel, if we changed our mind.
There would be a limit for the number of unbroken npcs this new bench could hold.
Im into it, very cool system, im playing vrising at the moment and there is a prisioner system where you can imprision free, or kill convert to thrall and so on, very cool and interesting.
Right now if you drop down (unconscious) an npc and something happens in the way and you loose it, then you can find it in the place that you farm it, or it can be bugged and forget it .
So how this will effect the game sequence. Imagine that 10 minutes past and your captured npc awake then it won’t spawn anymore until you use it! If I am not mistaken this happened the first time we had events with the taskmasters.
Then, it’s awake in the cage, if you open the door you have to bring it down again, isn’t it?
If this thrall wins, where does it go?
Don’t get me wrong I like the idea of using cages, especially for baby pets, but how this will affect the spawn system?
Do they awake when they are on the wheel 25h, smarty pants?
It would be more or less the same, but indefinitely.
They could devise a sort of mechanics for us to get them out with the bindings so that we could decide what to do with them after. I believe it’s doable.
They are not npcs anymore, they transform in to thralls! Waiting a second or 25 hours makes no difference of what they are anymore. Putting them in a sacrificial stone, makes them blood or soul essence, they are not npcs anymore!
Putting them on a cage you hold them as npcs, neither thralls, neither blood or soul essence! So if they are blocked npcs in your cage they delay the spawn of their original spawn place!
When they are on the wheel they aren’t thralls, not yet, @stelagel . Remove them before time and you see. All they need is to apply a similar concept. I’m sure they’ll figure it out! If you prefer it’s like keeping them on bindings for a long time. You can do that.
If I’m understanding the OP correctly, it would essentially put them in a condition similar to when they’re on the wheel or on a stone. It would remove them from being an active NPC, therefore opening up their spawn point for another NPC to take their place.
Personally, I’m all for the idea, since it would rectify the kind of issue I’m having with some of my smaller outposts. Their size restricts them to regular Wheels of Friendship rather than Greater Wheels, and if they get by a Purge, I can find myself running out of space on the wheel. Having a holding cage for them would alleviate this problem.
The game already has decorative cages, so I don’t think it would be too much work to turn those into a storage system for thralls.
This coupled with a wagon to transport them would eliminate greater wheels popping up like mushrooms everywhere. The concept is basically the same. A wagon to transport 8. Then you would decide what to do. Wheel, to become a thrall or sacrifice. I mean, it’s not something ESSENTIAL. But could be fun.
If you happen to play in a server with instathrall then you’ll understand my point .
Devs made these time limits for gaming interests of all the mechanics! If you try to release them before they are ready, you just destroy them, but surely they cannot go back to the world as npcs! It’s like break bonds, since you place them in your wheels they are your thralls and they cannot go back!
Or thralls, or vanish!
How cages will work? Like fridges of an unconscious thrall or npc? Because if they stay npcs, then they block their respawn, if they become thralls they cannot enter either the wheel, either the sacrificial stone. Finally what the cage will convert them to? Because they cannot stay npcs! To this I want to listen your solution!
Active, inactive, it will be be bugged and destroy spawns!
Again, I want this years now, it is not the first time this is mentioned here (December 8 I close 3 years here) , maybe I want it more than you do. But how it will work?
It would have to be different, because bindings still have them as an NPC that exists in the game world. When you put them on a sacrificial stone or on a wheel, they become a special class of item. In order to clear the way for new spawns, prisons would have to convert unconscious thralls into an item.
I think the issue would be that Funcom would need to create a new status or new item class for prisoners, a way for the game to recognize that an NPC is no longer active and that lets you transfer them from prison to a wheel or stone. I’m not a programmer, so I don’t know how easy or difficult that would be. Still, I think it’d be doable.
They are still npcs in the bindings, so they destroy the spawn .
Again
NPC can convert to a) thrall or b) sacrificial item. Though you have answered in the beginning that make them c) prisoners, another category, the problem is that the wheels and sacrificial stones work only with npcs!
So they should create a new category “prisoners” and made the “benches” work with this category too!
So far it’s simple, what bugs me is how I transfer a prisoner to the bench I wish?
Will the prisoners remain unconscious in there?
I believe that people would want more “alive” prisoners…
If they wake up, they just follow and go to the bench or I have to drop them unconscious again?
Think further, give me solutions that will make everyone happy…
Take your time!
I see the problem, but I’m sure they can find a way around it.
What happens if you keep an npc bound for a long time? Because in theory I can keep it bound for 24h, until the server restarts.
Sounds like a good idea to me, having prisoners and a dedicated bench for them doesn’t seem like a stretch both either immersion or implementation i’d think.
You just said it. They would create a new category for NPC and label it Prisoner. Why are you talking about them following or having to knock them out again? The point of a cage is that you don’t have to keep subduing them. Once they’re in the prison, they’re prisoners. Once the game recognizes them as prisoners, they can be put onto a wheel or stone. At that point, they’re reclassified to the existing statuses of either Sacrifice or Thrall-in-Training.
