Ps4 world map not loading

I took a break after completing chapter 1 of Age of War. I returned to finally experience chapter 2 the game crashed. I reloaded my backup save file then saved the game after playing.
Now when I play the world around me loads in but but nothing else. As i walk there are no world thralls, chests and other things missing. Then i reach a map edge where I see nothing but water, when I walk off the edge I fall through the water texture and then die and reload as if i didn’t die but the map doesn’t fix.
In order to play I have to relauch the game only to have the same thing happen over and over.
Please help r i really don’t want to start over. I’m playing solo and have been on this character for about 4 years.

How do I fix this issue or will the next patch correct the problem. I play on PS4.

Thanks for any help.

Save files get corrupted sometimes. Hard to say. Also, the PS4 console version is pretty poor. I play on ps5 official and it’s bad enough. Maybe @Croms_Faithful might be able to help. I THINK he’s on single player usually.

This probably won’t help but on official Siptah had poor rendering issues drawing a star metal weapon temporarily cleared it up worth a try. Fellow Exile. @Speedy15hb

Thx for the idea.

Is it possible that PS4 is no longer able to run the without issues?

I tried starting over in single player and notice alot of frame rate dropping and graphical stuttering. There are no player assets placed and the game functions poorly.

Is it possible tha my save file may have too many player assets in one area which may be the cause of my issue mentioned in my first post.

Note that i have around 100 followers amd they are mostly gathered in 1 location.

I wanted to build my own army.

This one finds the PStato struggles in Single Player a bit, especially around large builds or with numerous thralls nearby.

On the other hand, this one can make medium builds with room for a dozen or so thralls and all stations with little impact, even spawn in a purge ok.

Save files, as mentioned, can corrupt.
But the admin panel is happy to get you back up to speed in the event of a necessary wipe.

@Speedy15hb Yikes that sounds really bad, and this is one of the more severe issues I have read about. I suggest keeping the save file, but try uninstalling and then re-downloading the Conan Exiles application. Should that still not help, perhaps try rebuilding the ps4 database.

Thx Crom.
I first deleted and redownloaded the game. I rebuilt the database a few months ago. Will do both together and hope for the best.

I really wish Funcom fixes the major issues that corrupt game saves and causes loading problems.
I perfer to play Solo mode cause it allows me to play at my own pace.

You are most welcome @Speedy15hb, I hope that this helps! If it does not you may need to start again. But if you do, tell me…how do you play? For example, are you Singleplayer, official server, private server, co-op, etc? Because if you have admin panel access, you can, hypothetically speaking, regain any auch losses remarkably quickly.

Hello and welcome among us comrade exile.
Like our friend @Croms_Faithful suggesting it made a dismantling without failure and -1 Empty the caches of the PS4, -2 reconstruct the database.
Note that in the SOLO-COOP mode the large structures and a large number of placements (furniture, decorations, light and NPC enslave) harmful to the performance of the PS4.

It will always happen for a moment when the load will lead to crash or bugs.
The exercise use of the administrator panel to have the same effect.
I meet the same problem as you in solo mode using pure creative mode quickly moving by stealing.
Did you do the same when the problem appeared?

I did rebuild data base. Not sure how to delete cashes on the PS4. However i did delete all the save files i had ad started over in single player. I normally play the game with minimal quality of life changes in the settings such as removing weapon and armor durability. Day cycle longer and Night cycle shorter. Only recently did i also speed up follower experience gain.

I did build i medium size fort wall perimeter. Placed 3 storage chests, 4 wall decoration items i looted and a coffer.

I noticed some frame rate decreases and when flying around the map in creative mode i notice pop-in or delayed rendering of the next area. This seems like the beginnings of what my original problem is. Its starting with way less player assets placed this time.

Do you have any thoughts?

I play mostly Solo offline to avoid decay and avoid player induced lag with large bases containing many assets.

I enjoy playi g the game as organic as possible at my own pace. This bug is a major problem for me cause it took me years to get this far aquiring things when I feel ready. It was only till this year
That I finally decided to beat all the bosses and make the key to leave the barrier. After doing that and being disappointed with the ending, (which needs major improvements) I reloaded my online back up and continued to play Conan Exiles as a Solo RPG.

After re-installing and reconstructing my database Im already seeing signs of the same issues in my new game.

I think PS4 is at its limit in being able to run this semi broken game that keeps getting bigger with each update.

I don’t know what else to due besides getting a PS5 hoping that it can perform better and run the game with less trouble.

Good morning .
as said previously, Conan Exile is poorly optimized on console (PS4/Xbox one).
In solo-coop mode the map is loaded directly onto your console, the memory capacity of the console is simply not sufficient to run the game optimally.
The more elements you add (constructions, furniture slaves, etc.) the more difficult it will be for the console to run the game.
It briskly happens that the game plants with the addition of excess elemens. The constantly used administrator mod as well as the creative mod causes the problems (to be used sparingly).
To make the console caches, proceed in the same way as to rebuild the database: to demarcate your console in mode “without faad” then select the option “to empty the cache” it allows to empty the hide of the games of the games .
On PS5 the Games is slightly more stable than on PS4 because the memory capacity is more important, nevertheless you will encounter despite all performance problems (on PS5 we play with the PS4 version).
If I do not say nonsense (the pros correct me) the games ask the minimum 9 to 10 gigas of RAM to operate normally , while the PS4 has only 8 giga of RAM which applies why the game knows problems when it There are too many elements to calculate.
Save the games regularly on the PSN cloud or USB card, change the hard drive of the Constolle for a SDD, enrect the game on external disk, supress and reinstall the game, reset the console can help in some cases.

Hi again @Speedy15hb. Sorry to hear that you are still experiencing difficulties.

Not sure how many of these you already know of, but these are the admin settings I usually use.

Pause the game then go it ‘Settings’. From here go to ‘Server Settings’ and into ‘General’ > and click on the box titled ‘Make Me Admin’. From here go back and into ‘Survival’ > and ensure that the box for ‘Drop Equipment On Death’ is set to drop nothing. You will now no longer drop all of your goodies when you die. Now back out and into ‘Building’ > and ensure that ‘Disable Building Abandonment’ and ‘Allow Building Anywhere’ are both checked. This will also permit building bedrolls in dungeons. ‘Disable Thrall Decay’ are both checked. As a result of the prior anything which you build will never decay. Finally, go out again and into ‘Pet And Hunger’ > and ensure that the ‘Use Minion Poulation Limit’ is also unchecked.

Not sure if you have spotted this or not Speedy15hb, but once you have made yourself admin and you go into the Map, you can admin teleport yourself all around the map by placing the cursor where you wish to go and pressing Triangle button. Its a bit more like Skyrim this way. You can also respec with it on the Attributes screen.

And I am affraid that this is the heart of the issue. I suspect that Conan Exiles has outgrown the ps4. Funcom has made numerous savings where they can, but it is (sadly) a losing battle. The best you can do for now, is as @mynotaure has suggested and back up your progress periodically on usb and/or cloud. And I know it is tough with the current costs of living, but upgrade to a ps5 once circumstances permit. While I am on ps5, my partner still plays on ps4, and she generally get around 45-60 mins before it crashes. I would also politely suggest downsizing on your followers. I am at around ~35 of them at my base. They do impact upon performance.
