Game mode: Single-player Type of issue: Bug Server type: PvE
During three (3) purges, in my single player game, the purge enemies has been spawning in
the interior of my tower base. Rather than spawning in the area around the base, with the exception of
a named purge thrall that spawned correctly.
Overall info:
The tower base itself is built on open ground, accessible from any direction.
The way the tower base has been constructed: “Basement”, 1st and 2nd floor all has foundation thick floor, walls and ceiling. Beyond that the rest of the tower consist of ordinary walls/ceiling/roof build pieces.
I’ve had similar builds before, the difference would be that the 2nd floor also has foundation thick floor/walls/ceiling. In any regard this would be the first time in single player (for me anyways) that
the purge enemies behaves in this way.
Long ago, Jot, I have had the exact same experience. The base was accessible from all four sides with plenty of spawn room. The first spawn was on my roof where it was difficult to maneuver due to the map. All following waves spawned on the ground.
At most, I’ve had that happen 4 times and, over the course of a year, considered it an anomaly with no way to replicate it, so, no bug report.
@Mekii, first of all, very nice build ! Three out of four could be considered a trend and quite worthy of a bug report. Hopefully, Ignasis or Hugo will have a suggestion or forward it.
It didnt spawn ON top… But INSIDE! I didnt even find them at first, because I put every thrall outside (with a truncheon) and only hear noises and was checking all directions…
A friend on the server found them (was helping me). They all attacked a T3 foundation in a corner and ignored the thrall-stations
Thanks, just about enough space, and (somewhat) simple enough for a solo play through.
At first I thought to myself that it was just an random hiccup. After the third time it seemingly
was more than just an hiccup.
Compared to earlier version of the tower, I can’t quite figure why this one makes the purge
go all bonkers
At least you had good help ! To be fair, this particular base had no ‘inside’ floors. It was built on mostly two tall foundations for flattening, three stories tall, with ceilings extruded from the walls intermittently placed for workstations similar to the one placed on the floor. So, two ‘stories’, the inside and the roof.
@jot29, luckily for me, it was a low level spawn (near the Pagoda) and I was able to drag a thrall upstairs and dispatch the intruders fairly quickly with very little damage. After the first one, I placed 4 thralls equipped to kill on the roof since there are (to my knowledge) no interesting T4 thralls in the first wave. It happened 2 or 3 times more, but I have never experienced it since.
Around 3 months later, an offline purge completely flattened the entire building with nothing left but sand. I learned a lot from that but was not particularly happy at the time.
@Mekii, good luck and I’m not sure if I want you to have that happen again or not. If so, bug; if not, anomaly? Either way, well defended. From the looks of the surrounding terrain, those purges can get nasty.
Little bit OT:
After the purge (which happened in the north) I decided to check my other base at the north, near Mounds of the dead.
Went there and the event log said “fire destroyed” and every outer part was damaged… Well I just repair the staff and after I was finished I take a little break and only THEN I saw smoke… Like smoke from meteors.
@Jim1 quite so nasty. In the last purge I had two dragons spawning in the bed chamber which is at the top of the tower. A couple of Forgotten Tribe members (if I recall correctly) spawn on the second floor, and 2 Mammoth’s on the 1st floor. The “basement” remained clear.
The bed chamber got completely chewed up, but due to this bug the dragons couldn’t
do much damage elsewhere (thankfully).
I’d surely prefer that the purge enemies spawned as they should, and stay away from their haxx. I probably have to re-consider my base 'til there’s some sort of solution for this.
Thanks for the feedback.
Purges usually spawn inside when they cannot find a patch to their target, but we’ve received some reports in the past that also claimed to have had a way for the base to be accessed yet the purge still appeared inside. We’ll forward this information to our team so they can update the initial case.
@Ignasi Haha, thanks! Is it that day already:face_with_hand_over_mouth:
The purge has had it periods of funkyness since it came around, but I’m pretty sure the team
will eventually figure things out.
I am considering picking the tower apart and build something else in its, and see the result of that.
It does feel like the tower in one or another way causes the purge to go all funky:thinking:
ps. remind them of giving the purge the ability to select different locations if a player/clan has several structures. Wink, wink.
