First of all i wan’t to point out that i don’t care how it’s intended to work and what some devkit says, i just wan’t to express how i feel about the purge.
If you build a base that is well or even somewhat defended against attacks, be it NPC or other players, the game should respect that. But no, the purge just spawns IN your base totally ignoring every defense measure you have taken against it. That’s complete poo.
That sucks! I have had this happen a few times.
Now before building a base go into single player and build a base and then I activate the purge several times to see where it spawns and what type of purges I may get.
I tend to agree, if someone wants to build in a way that essentially causes the purge to be able to reach them, so be it. Have the purge run a check, if there’s no path just cancel it. It may have initially been intended to be a central game mechanic, but at present time, it is not. I mean, they’re fun when they work, but they’re keyboard smashingly frustrating when they go rogue, which currently seems to happen more than not.
Purges shouldn’t spawn on player created surfaces, regardless of the circumstances.
