Purge only lasting 1 round

I have an issue in my certain building spot in the very top middle spot of F and G 10 where when a purge happens I will only end up getting an enemy or 2 then it’ll say such and such is regrouping and then nothing happens it’s over or I hear the purge coming and no enemies ever show up is this a common issue how should I avoid it?

Mostly this event occurs when, Purge cannot path-find to your base, it tries not to spawn in it aswell, so it conflicts, terminating itself in a loop.

Did you build on a slope/hill/structure? Purges see those kinds of elevations as impassable terrain.

Yes I’ve built up on to somewhat of a little cliff that over looks the ice river up north that explains it though if I was to expand my building out onto a level terrain would that help it or no

Try to make a “path” with foundations, beginning from your current building and going to the flat land where at the other end you can build some dummy little house connected with your main base by this “path”. Game sees such structure as one and the same building so Purge would attack this dummy house instead of the big base. I always do so to prevent them from spawning inside my buildings. Give them some decoy to gnaw on and have fun :wink:

We’ve had a similar problem on our private server. My base is built on the cliffs where F/G & 10/11 meet. My first purge in that location was four waves of a Clan of Nordheimers which attacked from the direction of Meltwater Crag. It was great.

The purge I got last week was Cimmerian Beast tamers which spawned on the roof of my gate (which was open). It was quite the sight seeing mammoths and a dragon meshed into my structure. My archers & fighters did a pretty good job of taking out the enemy NPCs which spawned almost on top of them. That one consisted of three waves.

The purge I got last night was an Outcast Vanir Chieftain which consisted of five humans and fizzled out after the first wave. I got the “regrouping” message, but no countdown timer or second attack. I checked the map and the red X on my base had disappeared.

This also happened to a friend’s base on the ice in the middle of F11. He had an epic six waves of Nordheimers two weeks ago (bodies were piled up on the lake ice and shore) with a definitive beginning and end. Last week and this week were single wave spawns on top of his base that fizzled after the first wave.

(Oops. I just noticed that you’re posting about PvP. I’m on PvE, and I don’t know if purges work differently between the various types of servers.)

Purges needs a rework to easy

I’m actually not to sure if their are any differences from the purges on PVE to PVP but it sounds almost the same as my issue I’ve started building little houses out in open fields solely for the purge but my last one before the yetis I had was cimmerian berserkers and I had a platform built on top of the dam up by Lian when I climbed up to the platform it had about 25 cimmerian people just hanging out on it

I’d agree they are always easy too beat I’m more or less interested in grabbing another master black smith from one though the purge can’t get much easier for me considering it last about 30 seconds then signals that I’ve won the purge
