Quality-of-life changes: Onslaught, Raid Finder, and World Boss

It appears that the less effort is required and higher the rewards are, the more reluctant people are to join challenging content; therefore, the last endless Defence of Pin-Pin with its glaringly, unwisely high rewards, is a venomous stab into the back of the community.

In order to revive Age of Conan, we, players, would recommend removing any legendary rewards from Onslaught and Raid Finder and place them elsewhere along with the shards.

These Shards should be removed from RF and Onslaught and given out to players who take part and finish a raid that was least popular last week. This way, the content will remain dynamic, and raids like HoC or T3 will receive a boost in player influx as well as overall attendance-time span increase.

As for World Bosses, place them into PVP areas so that it becomes a much more engaging experience, cherished by both PVE and PVP players.

I, actually, really like this idea. Usually someone types a really drawn out waste of space trying to persuade Funcom to change things to benefit mainly them. Most recent example is the increase in shard awards to 6 mans. Then the few other people that really want that award jump in.

In this case, the reward is doing other raids besides the most popular. That would seemingly open up the game. Having to work more than you would for normal gear to get the best gear, which only makes since. Expanding the pvp, which would increase players knowlege of the game mechanics, while also making them work for gear, instead of just standing there. More variety, more people.

Bravo.

Onslaught is literally just xibaluku powerleveling with extra steps

I’m not sure how putting the WB in a PVP area would make it more cherished by PVE players. Odd’s are you’d see a total drop in the number of players doing it as they’d just stay away.

Good, maybe encourages them to do proper content instead of hitting a bigger version from strawman

I remember the days of World Boss in Fury. It took ages to finish one because a few players and guilds did nothing but gank the people trying to do the WB, most without PvP gear or rank.

Yes it’s fun to constantly run from the rez pad trying to get a WB, while being instantly killed by Pvp 10s. Pad camping for them must’ve been such a thrill.

It is one of the main reasons I moved to Crom. If you want to PvP then do so, but there is absolutely no reason to subject those that don’t to a PvP scenario.

Excuse me, but the FEW people? It’s a reason why the thread got close to 90 likes or whatever. It’s highly requested. And Khitai is content from like 2010-2011 so it’s not like we have some hardcore difficulty request right here.

This is the natural progression curve of any mmo. Be proud of you if you didn’t need FC to facilitate your own character progression, the problem was that most people didn’t get the chance to do most end game content in the first place, not everybody was ok with spending hundreds of hours farming tokens or whatever to get the most powerful gear in the game. Most people didn’t want to spend hours tring to figure out the strategy behind every raid or 6man boss. Most people want instant gratifications, they don’t play to make this another job in their lifes.

I don’t really mind this high rewards for the kind of content, it’s easy and gets people happy, it’s nice to have different routes to get to the best gear possible and to enjoy the game we all play.

I believe thise shards should drop frome somewhere else, where high skilled players can get them more easily, having to put more effort but for better reward. (more shards, for example)

But please, don’t try to engage pve player with pvpers, they don’t know how to pvp, they dont WANT to pvp, and they will just quit the game if they are forced to do it. WB are a great way for people to get a little bit of basic gear.

Me for example, i’m not social enough to get into high end raiding even if i consider myself a skilled player (for pve, i’m terrible at pvp). It would be a terrible game design if they would exclude a player just because he has social anxiety, or something less drastic, like little time to play.

T6 armors are still unobtainable by anyone who isn’t in a guild that does that and even then is difficult to get a spot in the raid group. having a less rewarding but alternative route to get that kind of gear is awesome for everybody.

I would agree with your 1st point but you have a couple of mincoceptions.Any Raiding guild or team has spent less hous raiding figuring tactics and “training” than people spend farming rf on the same toon. They are not there anymore because content stagnation killed them and then rf came along to finish the job :)Instant gratification is what ruins games like AoC because getting a “satisfying reward” for a short term goal killes the social element little by little. Each time i come back i find less friends playing and the game is more boring because of it .

For the rest of your post ,sure i can agree

My problem with the onslaught rewards is that they don’t require much in terms of difficulty, but require a lot of grinding. Would be better if they added some worse weapons with onslaught type gems that require wave 15 cleared and move the current weapons to wave 25-30.

Seems kinda stupid to give t6/ethram level weapons for clearing wave 15 and then farming wave 1-10 over and over again.

Is there lockout time for Onslaught?

Is the Onslaught temple purely for max levels or does it scale lower levels with max so that they can earn exp, level and get appropriate rewards for their levels ?

It appears to be level 80 only.

If that’s the case it’s a damn shame, i actually thought of redownloading the game and that it will bring people back to it.

I was on Fury for a while and Did WB there once. It was in Dragon Spine and we drug the WB to the Rez pad but couldn’t get him any further. A ranger was on the top of the cliff across from the Rez pad, He kept picking players off and no one was doing anything about it. When he picked me off for the second time, I sprinted to the cliff, buffed in inside the hallway in the cliffs, sprinted up to the top and (was on demo ) and I blew his sorry butt off the top of the cliff.

Killing off levelling quests and dungeons would be the worst step after all of these mutilations at 80…

This reminds me of the Diablo Immortal presentation and is a complete detachment from the Western culture.

Players need stimuli for group activities, minute planning, and accurate execution, which is perfectly reflected by pre-nerf T3, pre-nerf T3.5, T4, T5, and T6; we are not overly joyous to see everyone abandoning these only to do much less intricate content for loot only.

For the past days, finding any group (raid) or forming a group (raid) has been a pain in the neck. Everyone just lets himself flow along the stream to drown eventually; fewer and fewer people try to swim away from the hazard towards the bank but athwart the river flow…

I am lucky to be a part of an active guild, but I cannot but contemplate about those who log on to find something to show off their skills to, yet nothing shows up on their screen but those dreadful “wb where?”, “kushemite wave 666 1/6”, and “RF needs penguins”…
Or perchance it is some shareholder’s plan to make people more tolerant, less resistant to nonsophistication?

I just want to add that pug onslaught is no fun, while it can be in a premade group.
