Question of the Week: Where is your favorite location to build and why?

My original favorite spot was on cliff-side just west of what is now called the Warren of the Degenerates. It was close to iron, hyenas provided plenty of hide, and it was more or less centralized at that time. However changes to the map and game made it obsolete.

My Current favorite spot is just west of the pocket, across from Telith’s island, however I seldom ever actually get to build there, because the area is popular, and popular is not a good thing on a PVP server.

I have only one DLC - savage frontier. Tried my best. Shame that server I played had a fast decaying system… All is gone - only few screenshots left.

Where I want to Build? Ceiling base inside the tower at Priestking’s Retreat or the Tower at the Dam in the North.

Where is the location of my favorite base build? The cave just south east of the Black Galleon, filled the whole thing blocking both entrances with multiple layers and entered with an elevator from the roof with a map room inside. Sadly, the private server it was on was reset.

To tell you the truth the last weeks I play focused on a pve official server . However on the south east entrance of the volcano I have fixed a weel of pain , a map room , a religion and a small cabine . My last 2 purges were there . In my first I took Lesteret the unsung hero , in my second I experienced the most violent purge ever , it was a nordheimer purge , they were spawning non stop , more than 100 . They destroy a lot because my thrall didn’t have a weapon , I needed to capture not to kill and I couldn’t risk a weapon on Spinas hands :joy::joy::joy: . So this make it a lot harder and ofcurse having so many unconcius npcs the lags went terrible . As you see on my photos above my residence in this server is in jungle . I don’t know why my last 2 purges are in a construction I have in volcano . One think I can tell you for sure is that their is not a day that this wheel of pain doesn’t work , not a single one . But still my chests , my bed ,my working stations are in jungle not in volcano , go figure .

Agreed. Level-based purges are needed.

Also agree that there should be the option for “human purges” only. If the humans want to bring pets, that’s one thing, but animals don’t “organize” like that naturally, so its immersion breaking… Now if there was some “sorcerer” in the back making the lizards or spiders or hyenas attack, that’s more explainable.

Anywhere in the highlands or the frozen north. I love building viking style longhouses. I would like some T3 pieces to look like thatch roofs

The crevice and the hole mountain above it reaching up the mountain is pretty hard and it takes many hours to get to the loot

I imagine there is. He’s just far enough away so as to be safe from retaliation, maybe not even in the Exiled Lands at all (say… Thoth-Amon?). In Howard’s stories, mighty wizards could conjure demonic minions and send them against their enemies from very far away.

Close, the sorcerer is in Oslo.

My favourite places are in the middle of I5 and B7 north of seper. I5 because of the many enemies and lvl 60 chests (snake, spider, crocodile). B7 because of the thralls in Seper. Both places are close to a obelisk and have good access to resources.

The 1st hill south-east of Freya’s Hovel. Steep. Hight. It makes the perfect spot for a early medieval/Normand keep/fort. The exact kind of spots we find the ruines a our ancient keeps and fortq in Normandy.

Also, right in the middle of one of the 2 pounds at the oasis near the Mitra statu, south of The Den. Its a central spot alfway to pretty much any of the furthest away ressources you’d need. Plus water on spot. Close to fragment of power and Relic hunter seeker thralls.

Finaly, anywhere close to mounds of the deads. Because Cimerian thralls. Plus not far from black ice and star metal.

Unique design, bravo mine, one of the best builds i ever seen. Ofcurse it’s luxury stands on the dlc pieces, still it is prototype, so once more bravo👍

Atop the mountain range at Shattered Basin. There are several flat areas, access for NPCs (purge) is just one ramp (beware of the rock next to it, they can go through it), access to the north and the south (thus I do not need to carry a second armor with me). Lots of stone, wood and iron in the area (and steel, just raid the Nordheimers), and the little streams that lead to the waterfalls provide water and places for fish traps.
The one drawback is, that it is far away from obelisks.

My current favorite spot is at the Oasis of Nekhet:

Easy access to plenty of important resources, nice scenery, and the Purple Lotus Swamp theme and the Rise of the Godslayer track that play there give it a rather tranquil atmosphere despite the pricko leopards that hang around the area.

I’m also fond of Messenger’s Respite but every time I build there I’m reminded of how disappointing the views are when everything fades into that jungle haze so quickly. I do want to start trying out other jungle locations as well, but finding flat enough ground to build how I want is annoyingly difficult.

Oasis of nekhmet. Aloe, water (and fishES), lot of exotic, feral and savory flesh, hides, lot of wood, dry wood, vines, stone, plant fiber, iron and coal are there. The brimstone lake is near, Sepermeru, the dungeon below it, the warmaker’s sanctuary, the silvermine (and the only source of scorpion queen venom) are also close. Sand reaper queen, rotbranch, rhino king, scorpion king are also close so you get a lot of xp, legendary items or star metal!
And the music there. Not to mention the sepermeru music at night…

Oh I just saw yor post NEIGHBOUR!
