They have a few on Amazon and Barnes & Noble websites
You know, now I’m thinking a Crom religious DLC would be amazing. If…
You could craft a sword at the altar that would break and actually injure you.
The food made at the shrine poisoned you.
Kneeling at the shrine resulted (say maybe one time in ten) with you being struck by lightening.
Otherwise I’d like it to include nice Cimmerian armor and clothing and some cool horse tack as well as some lovely Celtic inspired Cimmerian decorative items and a build set that would allow you to make the round Cimmerian stone houses!
The riddle of steel DLC, revamped
A purist!? Just when I thought I had slain you all. No Im kidding of course [winks and nudges Alexandria with elbow]. You know it sounds like you are already, at least somewhat, partial to the idea. And the idea of a statue of Crom does sound appealing doesnt it. After all I have long thought so myself. The idea a Crom inspired Forge has also been another one which has always grabbed me. And even if it is not your forte, there is Expanded Universe lore to support statues of Crom existing. But let us put that to one side for the moment and contemplate if this can be possible within the parameters of the lore.
I personally would argue that it can be, based on two possible outcomes. The first being that Crom simply would not care or acknowledge it. The second being that Crom is resentful of any such in-game artifacts. And I would then argues that any such items could be harmful or dangerous, even deadly to the player as opposed to offering a benefit. I would be happy to further elaborate upon some of the ideas myself and other community members have devised if you are interested?
I agree, and this is a big part of the underpinning logic of my desire to strive for having some in-game Crom goodies added. Much like in the real world, there will always be people who will risk life and limb for a chance at greater glory, because in the minds of these bold individuals the risk is worth the rewards. For example, early attempts at aviation (around 1:38 onwards are some good examples):
And I would wager that similar misfortunes and loss of life befell early tinkerers of explosives and medical ‘cures’.
And I agree in the strongest possible terms that we should have a Cimmerian DLC. The central character in the Conan universe is a Cimmerian, so there should be an abundance of Cimmerian clutter and placeables, but there are relatively few. I say make the Cimmerian cultural DLC happen.
Wholehearted agreement, both on the original point of more cultural dlcs generally and on a Cimmerian dlc specifically. One thing I’d really like to see is some sort of solution to the journey steps for followers of Crom (not ‘worshippers’, because Crom…). As it currently stands, it is impossible to complete the full ‘Journey’ without having to set up a blasphemous altar to some other god thing and then sacrifice to it, in order to achieve the two steps ‘Venerate the Gods’ and ‘Show your religious zeal’. Sure, the journey isn’t essential, but it would be nice to have the option.
Maybe the suggestion of being able to dismantle other religions items could fulfill those steps for Crom followers?
Edit: Sorry Croms, that was meant to be a more general reply rather than specifically directed at you - I’ll remember how to use these forums properly eventually, lol.
