You can still be counterraided or get caught in a corner with 5 thralls hitting you and have a hard time getting to your corpse and stuff like that.
But āofflineā is a moot point when we both agree DBD should be enabled. 
Imagine this:
A: I carry 200 DP and get killed. Attacker grabs it and runs off.
B: I carry 200 bombs and gets killed. Attacker grabs them, get overencumbered and gets killed while slow walking.
Your suggestion just gave me all my bombs back 
Or imagine this, naked bomb with only 8 bombs at a time (crafting on my body) with my enc set so that 8 can carry 4 made bombs before over enc. I can have higher vit, grit etc becaus raw mats for bombs are waaaaaay lighter. Anf i have a chest hidden away with 500 dp as you say. so basically i have to hunt down the little bity chest. Or in my way the bombs precrafted i have to carry @ double the weight and the rest are either in 11 chests (495) or in a vault. Both way eaiser to find. Thus by allowing body crafting it makes bombing substantially eaiser as a naked. The idea behind precrafted is to male players not be able to carry 500 dp around and willy nilly blow up bases. Precraf6ed takes more storeage (3 tnt jars = 33 bombs worth of mats in slot space.) So 1/11th of the space needed. A naked could technically carry 1000s of bombs worth of dp, but 9nly 200 actaul bombs. Making even the most gutsy raiders have to mule back and forth more.
This hardly makes any senseā¦ Naked bomb with enc set???
No one is doing this.
You probably need a maximum of 50 for 90%+ of bases.
For the big ones you obviously come prepared. Which means vaults to store all the loot etc. yes, often multiple vaults if weāre talking a loaded base.
So it doesnāt matter if you can hide that DP in a chest or not. You already have the vaults.
Do you people actually raid or do you just not like being offlined?
