By removing Bombs and replace them with Battering Rams and Siege Ladders/Towers it would make the Game much more enjoyable and would remove mostly the ugly stacking in PVP Bases.
On Top of that it makes Classical Castles or Small Houses with a surrounding Wall much more defendable. This would result in…
less stacking and fewer Cube Bases
more Tactical Variety to Base Raids
would make Walls and Towers useful
would make Thralls more useful
you can build beautiful and be somewhat safe with a classic Wall (Castle, Motte & Bailey etc.)
would give Gods more relevance
Solo Players could defend a Base with enough Thralls against bigger Clans
The better solution is in the server settings. Turn on DBD, turn on 24/7 raiding. And now bombs get harder to use when the target can kill the bomb carrier and then turn around and raid the attackers with them.
I don’t want them removed, but a decent nerf should head their way. 1 second lighting animation, reduced damage by about 25%, and a much closer “place” distance.
That said, someone mentioned orbs. I think demonfire orbs need a buff. Not sure how much of one, but still.
Also, I’m totally in favor of battering rams, siege ladders, and more siege equipment. I want more dynamic raids, more options to choose from, and more things to consider when building my bases. To compensate, I’d also like more defensive options. Machicolations that archer thralls can actually use, useable siege cauldrons, and maybe even some special catapults or something that could fire at attackers that do minimal damage to structures.
I actually like that idea. Mind you, it would have to be extremely slow, but it actually gives orbs a use again, rather then just collecting dust in a chest.
Just make Dragon powder a more consistent explosive damage. Reduce it to about 500 for arrows and then have the bombs use 10 dragon powder for 5K damage.
Yea, the big problem with bombs is that you can just drop a new bomb into an already burning fire and it will explode immediately. Combine that with health pots and you can blow through a t3 wall in 10 sec or less.
Hate to break it to you, but nothing will stop “ugly stacking” in PvP short of completely gutting the building system altogether. PvP players, by and large, build for function over form, and in a world governed by video game mechanics that means ugly bases with lots of stacking and undermeshing and sky bases and whatever else they can get away with.
I believe this is the intent here. They want an artificial advantage. A ‘PVPer’ making a post requesting balance is 99% of the time a lie. They are usually requesting an imbalance in their favor.
An actual PVPer keeps their trap shut and lets their PVPing do the talking. This goes back further back than the internet or even video games. Whether it be a fighting game in an arcade or basketball at the local courts.
