The explantion of the “balancing” is here to be found:
“To clarify on this, it was an intentional adjustment that was taken into consideration with the changes to 2H swords that have been shared in the patch notes.”
Yes, it is a 2h sword.
But it is wielded in 1h and you cannot use anything in the off-hand.
Also it has the moveset of an axe and not 2h sword…
Looking at the changelog and what is written about 2h swords:
2H Sword Overhead smash damage has been reduced by 1/3. In addition, this attack has been slowed down and stamina cost reduced.
2h Swords now have slightly faster combo queueing.
And whats written about 1h axe:
Fixed missing damage types for bonus multipliers:
1h Axe, Light attack 1
Thats it… So again, I dont understand the explanation at all nor do I find anything in the changelog which points in that direction…
Maybe someone else see it different or understands Funcom?
@Hugo@Ignasi Can you please revert that back? Its a UC weapon… They are all HARD to farm. I got my first one after 500 fragments from UC.
i am not happy in general with the nervs of 2-hands. this i described already in an other thread. compared to other weapons, they bring not the eqivalent dps anymore. The 2-h special with the overhead chop could cill fast, but took all stamina with 2 hits. So it was good as final hit. Now the strength nerv together with the damage nerv together with the make-it-even-slower nerv makes the 2-hander questionable as valid option in my point of view. As pure pve player it is not necessary to make this nerves. As soon as I reach something, it becomes nerved and I have to adjust my playing style. Many people like it, I definitely not.
Maybe it got caught in the sweeping wave of changes, due to some internal classification quirk? Either way, I’m all for reverting it - sure it may look like two-handed sword and can’t be wielded with anything else (which makes it even less meaningful to nerf it since it’s a disadvantage compared to 1H axes), it’s otherwise an axe for all intents and purposes.
A reduction is always the fastest way to “rebalance” things, but it’s not a great solution. It’s kind of a : “for the moment, we do this, until we are sure to have found the right stats” kind of thing. It’s good if things are totally broken so they make a quick fix until they found the solution, but for this weapon, it wasn’t necessary AT ALL.
Sure, I agree. But allow me to build on your suggestion while were here. I cant recall where you stood on this issue Jot, but while we are at it, I also say revert the ‘balancing’ on the Sword of Crom and Lifeblood Spear as well!
For ALL, except you had a weapon modkit on it and it seems the quivering arrows also got nerfed.
And really hard… they are worse than craftable arrows…
It seems the time has come that UC legendaries get nerfed, because all other legendaries arent that good either anymore…
@Croms_Faithful seeing that the 2h sword of Crom did Not get nerfed, but the Lying bastard sword got… and that the reason of the nerf was the changeof the 2h swords…
It aint making that much sense to me…
Edit: Mark my words! The next weapon from UC which gets nerfed will be the Predatory blade. Because people use them at horses
The Festering One and The Lying Bastard are my go to weapons and it seems like more of a bug or unintentional change on the bastard sword I hope. I mean it’s a straight disadvantage compared to most legendary axes now unless it does have a much longer reach and it’s not just for show but I can’t say I have that much testing.
Rare items like the lying bastard sword SHOULD be powerful. The LBS is the rarest axe in the game. I should be the highest damage. Yes it has reach but that’s to compensate for the loss of the shield combo. I do not support the nerf
@jot29 you have a couple of grammtical errors in there mate. Im not sure what exactly what you are trying to say. But taking a stab at it; the Sword of Crom was nerfed from 121 down to 90 damage when it occurred (25.6% of it damage gone in on fell swoop). This was not due to the two handed sword changes, as the event predates them. The Lifeblood Spear was nerfed from 5 hp per sec down to 1 hp per sec, in addition to a number of nerfs to its damage rating.
Every time i find. A good weapon that I like , funcom murders them to death.
Blood spear , after days of farming I get one an nerfed to death.
Dual blades , one of my favorite weapons killed off like nothing . Spend hours farming for nothin .
Act of violence , yes it was op but dam I loved that thing .lol I almost felt like a thrall with all that damage .
God breaker weapons , like come on 100 pen gives it something cool. Now … Garbage.
Lying bastard kind hurt too. Hard to get , fun to play with. Unique in a good way … ‘An…it’s gone’ South Park reference.
So on an so forth, we go around na round with them killing off all the hard to fine rare items that we spent hours an hour’s if not DayZ to find. Either cuz people wine about them or they on a whim feel it’s too good . Ff that’s the case then let us all have basic weapons with no perks an have every happy .
Sorry for the rant . Just tried of all these good weapons being killed out an my time included .what a waste .
so there is a problem, what the point to spend hundred of hours to get those unique & rare wepaons if they share their stats with normal weapons…
UC weapons drop are rare, it’s normal for those weapons to be more op. lying bastad was well balanced, this weapon is now useless and don’t worth to invest the huge amount of time needed to get one.
lifeblood is still useless… too, so either remove fromthe loot table, either give back original op weapons they were supposed to be.
