I’ll respect that.
Hahah. I can respect that. I dont agree and still think that if they keep doing things like that this game wont survive. I still wont leave but honest i dont know how much i will handle until it. Thats not a EA game neither a indie game. New broken things are not that aceptable.
My singleplayer game is not working im guessing one of the mods i have is making it crash guess i have to go through each one and see so much fun weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
ARk: Survival Evolved did worse… SOOO soo soooo much worse.
And now take a look at them. Code of conduct and incident report system. Server admins, and PvP balanced to an acceptable level. Servers are still populous and they are prepping to release third expansion.
Studio Wildcard is a form factor x10 as frakked as Funcom is. They were the only developer in early access who sold expansion packs DURING early access. Then delays upon delays, their releases not in any better state.
But Conan Exiles chose a date to release, and for better or worse, stuck with it. Wether by choice or not, they stuck with it. Was it good or bad? Who the hell knows anymore.
But they did what they had to. And still managed to make a good game.
I hope they keep making improvements, even if it costs players. I’d rather them evolve at the cost of players, then forever stay stagnant, out of fear of losing anyone, and end up losing everyone.
Look. There is no perfect game. There are only games with the right kind of flaws.
A game which releases bugged, but right when it really needs to, is my right kind of flaw.
Ark survival was a indie and EA game until snail games bought it. And I never seen patches that brought unspected bugs from their parts as it is happening here in special after official release. Some patches in ark brought changes that alot of people couldnt agree but those patches hardly brought bugs as conan is bringing so frequent. And by the way thats conan, not ark. We should compare the qualities not the problems =p
I donnoh man…
Friends and even I have lost characters (and by extension all our dinos and bases) to the ARK Obilisk Networks more often than was necessary… Unsuspected bugs?.. Heh. Don’t think so…
There are no such things as tested releases without bugs. Name me one release without known bugs, that is larger than 3 gigabytes. (has to be a game. I’ll slap you if you say an episode of GoT, blue ray.)
What universe are you coming from if you are mentioning unofficial servers since, I did say it was an official server we were on?
is there a hidden disability on your part that impairs your comprehension?
Kids are so cute when they get annoyed ![]()
They fixed more than 500 bugs and thats a lot ; maybe there are just about a dozen new bugs which hopefuly can be hotfixed soon
Players losing all crafting stations and chests that are on wedge foundations is not something you hotfix. You roll it back. If they don’t, they will lose customers.
You obviously have NO IDEA how a game with databases actually function. Rolling Back needs A LOT of scripts to REMOVE and COMPARE what IS and WAS going on. Do YOU really…actually…really…really think that if a rollback happens you will keep 100% of your ‘things’ and nothing will break?
Before you continue spouting nonsense…take a full bowl of grapes or cherries and mix in some sunflower seeds. Now…that is after the Patch. Now reach in and remove every sunflower seed without spilling any grapes or cherries out of the bowl. Now multiply this task times 10 in difficulty and you will understand a rollback.
Give it a rest.
I updated my private server and am seeing some good patching. I lost a few things and have to rebuild a minor amount but I am happy that I have my own daily backups since I had a mass foundation loss and thralls through the landscape bug/issue. I restored that previous day’s version and four of us logged in to check a few things then we logged off to keep it right where it is. After this patch…looking BETTER.
Good going Funcom for sucking it up and doing something. Big hugs and a Thumbs Up from Arizona.
@pmumble True…but highly depends on how the development team is syncing source and their record keeping on versions with how the databases are backed up. Only Funcom can answer that one.
My map doesn’t work anymore. All the locations I have been too do not appear and if I go to a new one it is erased when I re-log.
I guess the structures that were blocked for bases were entrances to dungeons? I recognized some like the Priest King’s Retreat, but of course it’s not on my map anymore so I may never find it again.
This is on a PvP server.
Yep, you’re right. I don’t have high confidence that they could restore in the first place, to be honest. I only hope.
@pmumble I was not in the Test Live but from what I am seeing flying around in Admin mode then testing as player in Steel and Aquilonian tier gear…looking better. So the small amount of fixes and losses are a minor nuisance in my opinion…seems 95% of others are on the same page.
Pretty sure they will release a hotfix for that stuff really soon.
I hope.
If they do not or can not restore stuff that is lost due to patch then they should wipe and start clean. That way no one has the advantage.
Ark delivered the basic and the core mechanics it proposed to. The network issue was a complete new thing in another level of complexity. And for most none was bugs that made the game walk back. Fixing the ob netwrok never broke the taming mechanics or any other unrelated mechanic as it keeps happening here. You could just avoid it and your game would never be afected until it was solved. And for finishing, again, the Obelisk network crises was on early acess and for that it was aceptable .
Yeah seems a lot of people are asking for a roll back. This board is too insular though so some may not be aware how ticked the base is.
