Bug Description:

Rubberbanding on re-log

Bug Reproduction:

Log out or get kicked but stay in game menu then re-log and rubberband in place indefinitely. This happens everywhere, on buildings, terrain, open areas, near or on structures or placeables, it makes no difference. Always happens, each and every single time once re-logged. Only work around is to pull bracelet to get out of the rubberbanding.

Is it happening on solo game as well? I’m just curious, that’s a weird one… That happened to us only nearby big foundations stacked bases…

I’ve been getting bad rubberbanding lately. I also watch the npcs when it happens to them. They rubberband if it is server side. If your toon twitches (npcs don’t), then it is client side only. This much I tested in the last two days.

Haven’t tested it in SP but this is happening even in remote places with no buildings nearby.

I think Dzonatas, up here have a good hypothesis on the problem… Maybe your computer? Or its another Funcom feature of the chapter 3… We had something like that on our server just before being kicked out, but it was odly specific on the location…

Haven’t had the opportunity to see NPCs doing anything unfortunately so can’t confirm.

Internet and rig is fine and I know I’m not the only 1.

It could be a long list of factors leading up to this and probably be very circumstantial. At first it was just in base but I’ve confirmed it happens elsewhere too and only if I re-log. I logged out on another players’ base just now, just small thing to hide myself real quick to test something in SP, re-logged onto Official and rubberbanding forever. So had to pull bracelet, spawn at base and run to body to retrieve.

Do you have the opportunity to put a bedroll down instead of running from your bed to your corpse, or even summon it through sorcery?

Absolutely, quick and easy retrieval but I was scouting and didn’t want to lose my track so retrieved manually.

This rubberbanding has been happening to me as well when i log in, i have to remove my bracelet and kill myself to fix it, and half the time my bed and bedroll will not show up on my respawn, so then i have to trek all the way from the desert outskirts back to my base. very frustrating, im on an official server PVE

Does this video resemble your Rubberbanding experience?

(It’s old, 2019)

No, I take a step forward and rubberband back into the spot I logged in at. It’s like you’re tethered to it.

Fair, it looks like a new issue due to that. Yesterday, however, my login went smooth unlike the last few years of it sounding like falling forever.

The optimization of this game in last generation consoles is fatal. there is a lot of lag in pvp

Ya and that was pretty much normal and happens to me still along with a new bug I’ve also written a report for.

Fresh log in > loading issues falling being inside of mesh or lower floors and sometimes for way too long.

Re-log > rubberband forever in place.

True @Triton30, true!
@Kikigirl rubber banding i believe is not only on pvp.
On pve single player my toon cannot move for a few seconds and if i try i will probably get a rubber band, but just for a few seconds, then my character is “released” with X ( jump) and on pve official i spawn in different floors or even in the foundations of my small tower. The workaround i found to this problem is to look up. Plus another problem i find in log in is that my inventory needs time to show up.
So Triton is really correct in…

Hmm… I now lack confidence on optimizations for the PS4. No one is going to support something that just aged out of its cradle. While the game grew for the complete picture, the system requirements need to match. I doubt “we” will continue to support the original PS4, as the PS4 PRO barely hangs in there.

Now that the PS5 PRO is out, it makes sense to push out the old PS4 out of support (even from other players). Just note that the game you bought only required the PS4.

The PS5 PRO includes RTX, ray-tracing extensions. (optimizations…)

I was referring to another bug that @Kikigirl already did a report but until i reply to this topic i haven’t seen it yet.
When we log in “the next day”, we probably will find our self not in the place that we log out, but vertically only. In this photo you see me log in, inside my foundations

I “look up”, not to see Bellas underwear  but to exit this situation

And there you go i am where i originaly logged out

That’s my workaround and i share it .

I’ll try it when I log in for my session today ^^

It’s annoying that we have to use workarounds like this.
