Just saw reviews and realized that the new expansion - saves over your original character save (even though its two different ‘games’. -
( they have to get better at things like this, big oversight… already need multiple saves so you dont have to drag save files around .) Anyway…

You can only run one map at a time, but you can choose to switch between them without losing progress (seperate databases/saves, seperate characters - no character transfers).

I have seen a couple of people report on the forums they are losing their progress in the Exiled Lands after purchasing the Isle of Siptah DLC.
Unfortunately, not everyone knows the official forums exist and other people just resort to reviews to list all the issues they find even if they do know. It’s likely these reviews are coming from people having issues with this feature.

Seperate map or Linked?

The Isle of Siptah is a new map for Conan Exiles. You will be able to choose which map you wish to play on when playing Single Player, Co-Op, or setting up a Dedicated Server. A dedicated server instance can only run one map at a time, however the maps use separate database files so you can choose to switch back and forth between maps without losing any progress for any player.

Hey there, To clear any confusions. To play on Siptah, you will need a new savegame/database. they are not linked, but separate maps. However, as part of that update, we’ll be adding the option to swap between those maps when loading a game, meaning you won’t lose progress on the Exiled lands or Siptah when playing on the other map.

There’s no implicatures in our clarification. But to make it clearer: On the same server, it won’t be possible to run the Exiled lands or the Isle of Siptah simultaneously. On the same server, it will be possible to keep a different database for the Exiled lands and Isle of Siptah. When launching the server, it will be possible to select one map or the other. If playing on different servers, please make sure of your current decay timers (if enabled) on each of them.
