I look forward to the purge and all the new additions to Siptah, I feel it is very boring as it is, but I’m coming from a single player perspective
I’m all for adding purges to Siptah. Bring it on. What’s the big challenge about them anyways? More unique thralls and stuff to kill, and a better reason to make your bases defensible.
While I am not a fan of adding a purge on Isle of Siptah, but purges (depending where you are located on the map of course) are typically not as bad as some people fear. For example, I had a purge last night and defended it with a lessor geared clan mate and two followers (one was a weak non-leveled pet) and we managed to clear the purge pretty easily. I only have 2 thrall guards at the open gate entrance which during the entire purge only fought 1 purge mob.
Minor issue of purges is depending on your base build may cause the purge to spawn in your base if you do not give access to attack your base normally. Meaning if you built on a cliff rock where they no place to spawn besides your base, then they will spawn on your base.
Of course, once in a while, I am sure a purge bugs out and may cause a bit of havoc in your base.
On the most part unless you get a truly tough purge, you need a few guard defenders in areas where they normally attack. They usually spawn in the same areas each time so will not take too long to figure out. And you will need to go out and defend it for the purge time frame (30 minutes usually).
At most a small section of your base will be destroyed and other parts damaged. (for example: this happened to my clan mate who built on a cliff rock - tower, where they spawned inside his tower in 2019, they did break sections of the tower but overall only about 5 or 6 foundations were destroyed with corresponding walls - yes good chunk of the tower fell.) They can be easily fixed/rebuilt.
Purges do not happen daily (exceptions of some dedicated servers with quick purge meters setups).
Still I will admit I prefer no purges on Siptah than adding them, but I will adjust accordingly. Yes, oddly some people did ask for Purges.
I am not happy with that change either. Not because I’m against purges and we can’t afford to build tier 3 (basically that’s what my gf did on our server) but because we really build huge castles over the last months which have the tendency to spawn purge mobs somewhere inside or on roofs which makes it impossible to defend against the bugged purges.
Purges in general were fun on the Exiled Lands when you didn’t build something special. I had a tower in jungle biome which I liked very much and it was destroyed by a purge of snakes that spawned in the 3rd floor inside my crafing tables.
Yes, you can deactivate it, but why would you deactivate an important feature just because it has a chance to bug?
Siptah on the other hand had a new unique gameplay where you hadn’t to improve your base to cheese purges. Instead you had a clear path you had to go.
Build base, go dungeons, get surge npc, get stronger, go mid, farm ???, use shrines to get better npc. They should have sticked to that.
Im all up for purges really. It gets pretty much boring once youve gone through the dungeons and bosses. Purges are just pve way of raiding. Its a survival game, if you lose stuff just farm it back. Adapt overcome excel.
I agree completely: no issue here.
Purges are great, especially on Siptah where so many complaints pop up that ‘it too hard to get thralls or ABC named thrall, etc.’
I just wish that there was a simple way to have Admins be able to pick a start point for a Purge horde, and a direction, and have them move from point A to B (to C) and fighting all the way. And for Official, have completely random seed-areas that spawn wandering Purges - raiders are certainly a thing in the Conan genre - for Crom’s sake, Conan himself often is a Purge all on his own.
Brother and sister Exiles I am back!! Although it would seem I am too early for Siptahs glorious launch on consoles on the one hand, and also too late to provide direct feedback to the threads discussing the recently announced changes to Siptah on the other. Because of my not so impeccable timing, I will leave my thoughts here for Funcom on the prospect of a Siptah Purge first and foremost, and then possibly some of its more general impending changes hereafter.
To begin with, I welcome the idea of having the Purge in Siptah! The game both needs and can benefit from additional end game loops, and the Purge is one of the most fun ones we have in the Exiled Lands. Although I do remain in favour of T4 Purge craftsmen thralls offering some…ANY unique recipes and crafting options which regular T4s do not. I am also excited to see some of the new variants of the Purge which will be unique to Siptah, as a result from Siptahs unique wildlife, beasts, and now 3 incoming factions. I am looking foward to this.
Welcome back! ![]()
Welcome back Croms_Faithful. Hope you had a nice rest, a happy holiday season, and a happy new year.
After auto-hitting the ground and seeking cover on seeing any of The Chosen arrive, am now applauding and waving madly to see you back @Croms_Faithful
Agree completely - continued tweaks and adjustments, interest and development from the Devs keeps the world turning. Survival of the fittest and most adaptable. Delighted at any prospect of new creatures, factions, items, changes - and wish the same creative brushstrokes would ripple backwards into the Exiled Lands too.
Thanks for the warm welcome @CodeMage and also @Ciero9, its good to be back. I probably should have waited until the Isle of Siptah dropped on console so that Im not torturing myself all over again, but I guess ill just have to cross my fingers and hope that its getting close instead.
Hahaha thanks to you too @Grymm, I didnt forget you there; after all we are almost like part of the furniture now. and in fact Im waving back madly right back at you to the detriment of the task at hand. Observe…

Couldnt agree more with both parts; more tweaks and adjustment to the Purge (after all we are now rife with exciting new possibilities), and hopefully some of that aforementioned additional content for the much loved and unforgettable Exiled Lands too! I recall Funcom saying that they intend to continue actively developing both maps, so its time will come. Hopefully those brushstrokes are just over the horizon.
And most importantly, and as all Admins will have already done, I have my large case of drinks and tranquillisers on hand for the fun and games we’ll have with mods and the update - and some administering intravenously (you know who you are…)
I disagree. One of THE most interesting points in Conan, is the structures - and to know that anyone who’s put enough hours into cultivating that structure, is willing to protect it as well. You earn the right to have a grand base when you’ve grown strong enough in the game to keep it too. It also promotes a sense of urgency - both in game, and out. I cant tell you how many times iv’e rushed home to check the event log to see what had transpired while I was gone. Besides (and I know this is cliche, but) everything is replaceable.
Everyone ready for the unfinished map i know i am can’t wait to see all the Xbox and ps players on here crying because it’s gonna be so broken and unfinished big mad bro big mad can’t wait
Just wish that if/when the engineering to allow players to stagger through the Exiled Lands and to the Isle of Siptah (and others?), that it opens a door to eventually have other modules akin to Siptah.
Also wish that, were it not to result in en masse screaming and flaggelations, that Exiled Lands could be made the Core platform and Jungle and Northern Lands be ‘split’ off like Siptah. This could possibly allow all the lands of Crom to be upgraded graphics- and content-wise.
I do vote for wandering Purge-Hordes/Herds that spawn occasionally and wander across the map(s) creating mayhem - or an area around settlements/nests.
Well, I actually love it, specially in official forums. Not just it will give a reason to play in any form but a very static way, now you will have to react, but it gives something to kill those gigantic ugly bases who create a ton of lag and destroy the view.
I guess we are going to have to include a trigger warning for you next time. I know, I know…you have bugs and the Purge is coming to Siptah. You have truly been done an injustice this day. If you are dissatisfied with the planned changes to the Isle of Siptah then may I suggest you simply take your wallet elsewhere and do not buy it; you are not obligated to do so. As opposed to trolling and having a temper tantrum like an entitled child because Funcoms vision is not congruent with your own personal desires. Have a nice day.

Hey guys, pls stay on the topic instead of trying to draw imaginary lines on the sand.
Theres nothing wrong with having different opinions and perspective, just like having two sides of the same coin. Just agree to disagree, doesn’t mean the other person having a different perspective doesn’t love the game all the same.
Yeah, I’m sour as a freaking grapefruit about what Funcom’s decided to do to Siptah. I even made a thread to criticize them. I had high hopes for Siptah and those hopes were proven unfounded.
None of that makes it “one of the biggest bait and switches […] seen in the game industry”. I chose to pay $20 for an unfinished DLC, knowing full well that it might not be something I liked, or that it might end up being something completely different from what it was when it started. That’s what early access means.
I chose to support Funcom. They chose to do something I didn’t like. Feel free to call me an optimistic dumbass, but it’s no bait and switch. ![]()
Because words really do matter. It’s January 2021, do I really need to point at all the RL evidence we’ve had recently that words matter? Weren’t you paying attention?
Not sure why anyone would care about purge, it does not work most of the time and if it does they spawn inside the base and get stuck in walls and mountains and then the purge just ends. Oh wait did they fix that , nope they did not. Will they, nope not much chance of it being fixed after being so broken for
so very very long, so if they add it to spitah have fun with it.
