Well there is the whole Pet Companion rebalance they are working on. And by working on I mean that was from November 2022, and literally nothing has been done with it since then. 
So I wouldn’t get my hopes up if I were you. Even if they tossed a bunch of new animals into the game they are still going to be useless trash good only for aestetics like the rest of them. Well, that is except for the fact that they eat into your follower count!!!
