Some Elevator Ideas

I had a couple of ideas for elevators.

  1. Zip-line, goes down only but real fast. The elevator instantly resets to the top once it drops the player off at the bottom. It might be suitable for observation post towers where you want to get down to engage the incoming purge quickly.
  2. Cable Car style elevator goes up and over on a diagonal. Both height and distance are still limited to 32 foundations like the regular ones. I could think of a lot of uses here. Is there PVP issues here? It shouldn’t be a problem as long as the standard elevator rules are followed vertically and horizontally, right?
  3. Freight Elevator, big enough for 3 - 5 players or a couple of players on horses. I would expect shorter height limitations.
  4. Staging/Building elevator similar to a window washer suspended platform. One up lever and one down lever to move one wall ONLY in each direction. I would love this when I am working on decorating the outside of my building or just doing some repair work high up.

nice ideas, might i suggest a few of my own?

  1. a single counter weight and pully system, just a rope with a handle at the end, hold on, cut another rope and up you go. one time use to pull yourself up really fast, have to be manually reset.
  2. a slide to get down from high places really fast and safely, maybe spiral or zig zag?.
  3. rope swings to swing across gaps, with a pully to bring the rope to you on which ever side you’re on.

Change the skulls eye color WHILE the evevator is moving, so we know the chain pull registered and we dont wait for an elevator that isnt moving.

Red eyes = static elevator
Green eyes = elevator in motion.

Uuuuhh, I like the zip-line!

  1. My suggestion (single player POV!! but with ideas to maybe fit into multi) is: no height and lenght restrictions, only gradient restriction (well, this sorta limits the previous ones but I digress) - maximum of 45°.
No foundation needed to attach, it can be attached to cliffs and trees and other non-player built stuff such as statues, etc.

You* could establish the first one (as above explained) anywhere, then the end one too, and the game would automatically draw a rope between the two, IF nothing is in the line of sight. If you build more than one starting point at once, it would connect the two nearest together.

Would be great for quick assaults, when you can be undetected, build a zip-line outside of the enemy base, and would slide down and start fighting!

(*the players could only connect their own ones, so no X player builds one, and the Y player connects it immediately on the other side of the enemy clan’s base.)

And probably a use of one handed weapons if needed while sliding down.

  2. An other idea: grappling anchor hook (or what is its exact name, I don’t know  ): would be a projectile (only 1 piece/stack) made out of steel bars and rope. The enemy can destroy the hook with regular weapons though. You can use with a bow. That would definately spice up raids! Heh heh.

Everyone asking for some hi-tech stuff.

I just want a ladder that doesn’t take stamina to climb.

What elevators really need is bards. Can’t have a good elevator without some soft music.
